Nick Anthony Simoncino is synonymous with the revival of Italian house music over the past five years or so, and so it feels right for him to be delivering this album to Vibraphone. Of course, Simoncino has more than enough skills (and hardware) to make something truly special, and that s apparent from the opening strains of -Mystic Adventures- onwards. There s a sense of urgency and mystery woven into tracks like -Righteous Rule-, where haunting leads wobble over sizzling drum machines, and the overall mood is redolent of 80s soundtracks mixed with the uneasy side of Chicago house music. Maintaining a punchy finish throughout and constantly reaching for the spooky side of machine soul, Simoncino has more than delivered for the legendary Italian label.
