The music of barcelonian producer Mistakes Are Ok is quite a mystery for us. It's strange, adventurous and enigmatic, impossible to define with genres or styles. Maybe that's the reason why we like it so much, or maybe it's simply that we find it utterly captivating. Mixing samples from the most diverse origins and reshaping them through all sorts of manipulations, he builds tracks filled with alien haze and odd beauty, with the kind of outlandish charm that emanates from all the music that dwells in a fully own cosmos. We're eager to share it with the world and soon we are going to release his debut album, which will be the first LP of Hivern Discs. As a prelude to the album, we've asked some of our favorite producers to remix three of it's tracks, with the particularity that the three of them share with MAOK the fact of having constructed their own per- sonal musical landscape. We're really flattered to have reunited Kassem Mosse (pairing up with his studio mate Mix Mup), Downliners Sekt and BNJMN in one same 12", in what we think is one of the best remixing line-ups we've had in the label. KM/ MM transform "Best Before" into a piece of opiatic techno weaved with swampy textures, underwater atmospheres and a lethargic tempo that drops under the 100 BPMs. A track from the depths with a haunting effect that keeps increasing with every listen. It's dark, it's sick, it's odd, and we love it. Downliners Sekt prove once again that they're one of the most personal and compelling acts of contemporary electronic music and serve a mind-boggling reconstruc- tion of "Crumbs". Maintaining the hazy feel of the original, they infuse it with twisted dancehall vibes, apocalyptic chords and shady vocal samples to transform it into a dub-infected monster capable of caus- ing serious damage, especially if played in a proper soundsystem. Finally, UK burgeoning talent BNJMN smoothes the edges of the highly psychotic "Koala" and turns it into a soothing house cut that matches comforting atmospheres with bursts of eerie synths and sprinkles everything with dashes of fuzziness. The result is the most floor-oriented track of the pack but without loosing the singular and enthralling spirit that floats across the entire release
