As director of the subterranean lair, burrowed two floors beneath the street and dedicated to the prosperity of underground music, Ms. Mejia has now set her sights on amplifying the subMercer's appeal with the debut of its eponymous music label, cleverly subtitled, The Underground Series (pun intended), which seeks to bridge the underground music scene to a wider audience and keep NYC at the forefront of cutting edge music. Refreshingly, it is also a departure from the ubiquitous boutique hotel lounge CD compilation of mainstream songs. T.U.S. features original content from NYC's most notable underground dance music producers...on vinyl as a stamp of acoustic integrity for DJs and audiophiles alike. The label is subMercer's unique contribution to New York's distinctive cultural and creative fabric, and a token of gratitude to the DJs and producers who have collectively secured subMercer as the epicenter for latest and best in underground music. The record's red packaging with its unmistakable gold ((M)) logo mirrors the club's mythical red door with solid gold letters that lets both DJs and revelers know that they've arrived at their destination.

For the label’s inaugural edition, it enlists the incredible production talent of NY underground luminaries, Marcos Cabral and Eli Escobar – both regular mainstays at subMercer. A respected veteran of NYC’s dance scene, Marcos Cabral, is also widely known for his duo, Runaway, and its record label, On The Prowl, as well as for his vast connections with distinguished record labels across the globe. A native New Yorker, Eli Escobar, has steadily built a name for himself over the years as one of the city’s most well-versed and dexterous turntablists. With his impressive catalogue of song production and remixes for famous artists, he has duly earned his title as “NY’s Finest.”

In keeping with the recent resurgence and evolution of deep house, both artists have laced their voluptuous beats with the sensual female vocals of Lindsay Mound and another beloved subMercer DJ resident, Lindsey Caldwell. The result is an irresistible affair – the kind of seduction that could only go down in a hotel.
