With ten releases now under their belt, ALiVE Recordings has very much come of age. Releases from Lemon Popsicle, James Talk, Bubba & T-Bone and label boss Tom Budden have generated some serious noise for the likes of Carl Cox, Danny Howells, Terry Francis and James Zabiela.
With releases on respected labels including Yellow Tail, Rebirth, Night Drive Music and Deib Audio, Lemon Popsicle are currently enjoying a growing reputation for their edgy flavour of deep house. Established by the combined force of Wollion (BluFin) and Sandrino (Sprout) plus producer Adrian Pietrasch, the German trio is the forefront of a new, deeper house sound.
Andy Chatterley (Saved Records, Forensic) provides the first of two remixes on the package of Bistra. Cutting up the main riff and looping it over a swaggering beat, his mix transforms the deep hypnotic original into a pounding tech house fusion of punchy bottom end and warm synth stabs.
ALiVe Recordings boss Tom Budden gets in on the act to round off the package. Sounding extremely current and drawing on an amalgamation of shuffling tribal tech house with splashes of dubbed-out house, Tom has conjured up a smoldering percussive bomb.[infosheet from ]
