Mighty Robot kicks off 2009 with the first vinyl release from French electro artists Katelectro and Jauzas The Shining. The original version of >Plug< is music custom-made for a dark room and a strobe, the spoken vocal adding to the sense of vague unease. Newcomer Ottomatique takes his >Plug< rework in a different direction, retaining the vocal, adding some eighties synths and underpinning it all with a throbbing industrial meets disco bassline. The legendary Ultradyne push the discomfort and discord up a notch in their remix, staying fairly true to the original, but drenching it with their unique sinister atmospherics. Things take a reflective turn for closing track >Art of Noise< as ghosts crackle in the circuits and bring the collection to a close.
