Having established his own Basic Grooves imprint with a trio of sultry New Jersey influenced house releases, Shane Linehan hands the fourth release over to up and coming French producer Janeret. *Hard Deep* goes even, ahem, deeper that Linehans efforts for the label, combining a slamming mid-tempo kick drum with crisp and cavernous dub piano chords and the subtlest of organ riffs, making a nice contrast to the more upbeat styles of Linehan. On the flip, Linehan delivers his own version of track which ups the tempo and offers a ravey, pitched take on the originals simple one chord piano line, complete with bristling hi-hats and warm pad breakdown.
