But it seems that his time in the international spotlight is about to arrive with some of the coolest labels around flocking to him for remixes and productions: Boyd has recently been drafted in by Damian Lazarus for remix duties on Crosstown Rebels, is set to record a full length album for Jonny Art Department Whites No19 Music label and has been snapped up by kings of Canada, My Favorite Robot for this superb new single. More quality from the team at My Favorite Robot Records and a single from an artist who we are certain to be hearing a lot more of in the months to come!
The 'Goldemine' single release opens with the original version, an emotive and melodic slice of deep electronica come house that showcases Dead Seal's heartfelt vocal delivery. The recording is stripped and uncluttered yet possesses a warm and depth generated by his subtle layering and downright good song writing, quality stuff.
The first of the mixes comes from Droog & Inxec, a pair of producers that should need little introduction. They take the original of 'Goldemine' and develop it into a hypnotic tech workout that retains the feel of the original songs whilst adding a retro inspired electronic feel.
Next up we have the superb Sid le Rock at the remix controls who journeys into the realms of spacey and mesmerising house with a version that breaks apart the vocals and delivers an ethereal, pulsing track that is part floorfiller and part ambience masterwork!
The penultimate mix comes from the talented and prolific Adultnapper, who will release an EP on MFR later this year under his lightbluemover moniker. Here he reworks 'Goldemine' into a deep and dubby house mix that draws on tight percussion and bass to form a superb soundbed for Boyd's vocal.
