On their new 12“, Obsession EP, Berlin-based duo CYRK expand on their unique permutation of sci-fi-inspired electro. The title track is another fine example of the brooding and cinematic atmosphere they have championed lately. Recalibration ups the ante significantly. It’s a fast-paced and tense dance floor smasher replete with screams and powerful howls by Berlin-based singer Sunru. In his remix, veteran producer The Hacker slows down the tempo and turns the frantic original into a slow-chugging lesson in new beat intensity.
