At the very end of 1955, tenor saxophonist Harold Land returned to Los Angeles and the young Sonny Rollins took his place in the Max Roach- Clifford Brown Quintet. The group with Land recorded three albums, Clifford Brown & Max Roach, Brown & Roach Inc. and Study in Brown. This LP contains their second album in its entirety plus quartet songs recorded by Brown in France in 1953, added as a bonus.
