After a successful independent trajectory since their beginning in 1981, BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM's drummer Graham Mitchell sadly passed away in April 1988. His brother Chris and their closest friend Matt Venn returned to The Slaughterhouse studios in December and recorded three songs with the help of a drum machine; 'One Afternoon', 'It's All Over' and 'Dutch Villa'.

For us at Dead Wax Records these three songs are the best that BSOE ever did. We think they're so magical that we had to put them on a proper vinyl release. This is our humble, heartfelt homage to a band that was struck by fatality not just once when Graham died, but again when Matt also lost his life in a car accident in October 2001, five years after BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM had morphed into the indie band LOLATWIST. Graham and Matt, may you rest in peace and happiness forever. Your music will always live with us.
