More deep and moody grooves from Mike Grants label. GREG STADFORD is behind the monkier Black Art who’s previous production credits have included mixes of Blake Baxters seminal Deep N Da Groove ep. Nice and Jazzy the favourite cut is Just Groovin a wicked blend of St Germain keys and funky organ riffs, over some skippy Detroit drums. Dig This is a mellow late night journey of psychedelic horns and guitar licks with dreamy pianos floating over the top. ‘Sweet’ is more on a broken jazz tip with live drums and a cute vocal snip that dubs itself over the rhodes bed. The production quality of this ep is stunning. Very strong stuff from M & G!
