The newly-established vinyl label is capturing that unique vibe: The second release „Through The Pain EP“ features the collaboration between AWAY Soundsystem (consisting of Discrete Circuit and Christian Vance) and vocal talent Shaune Anthony – including heavy hitting remixes from Joe Claussell and Mr. Ties.
The original track „Through The Pain“ spreads a vibrant house-driven charm with sharp
hi-hats and 808 rim shots targeting the dance floor while the deep, gospel-rooted
vocals by Shaune Anthony is adding the right amount of hypnotic invocation.
Mr. Ties simplifies his „Recovery Dub“ focusing on the analogue percussion to create a
sparse, warehouse-like and darkly erotic stunner – a carefully arranged invitation to get
lost in its mesmerizing mist. Legendary producer Joe Claussell dips the original version
deep into a proper New York-educated bath with his „Modulated Tortued Dub“ –
creating a nostalgic and playful atmosphere through emotional chords, scattered claps
and some of his infamous jazz elements. Not afraid of evoking a picture between
menace and melancholy.
