When Mollono.Bass and MAZ'N exchange their first ideas for a collaborative project, they talk a lot about playing live. That's why this approach is coded very deep into the DNA of WOODKIN. It's hard not to notice when you watch their creative dialogue unfolding on stage, clearly reminiscent of the real-time dynamics of a concert. It's also very noticeable when listening: Built on songwriting skills and carried by dancefloor expertise, the tracks have a pronounced vibe of something that is alive. The most consistent thing about the sound of Mollono.Bass is that it takes new directions all the time. MAZ'N on the other hand has given expression to his musical passion as singer and piano player in a variety of bands and roles. In consequence, it's impossible to pin down WOODKIN to a particular genre. The organic warmth of House and the melodic momentum of Techno are important factors, and so is the open-minded attitude of Indie Dance – and last but not least there is the emotional catchiness of the voice, which reflects some sort of modern, electronic take on Pop.
