CLUTTER EP
Clutter is Jean Jacques’s debut EP and in his own words “his first attempt to translate emotions and experiences into tracks”. While each of the four tracks has its own character and atmosphere, the end result is a very coherent body of work that can be broken down into two moods with a driving and unforgiving A side that is subtly balanced by a moody and dreamy B side.

A1. DUBHYPNO
What started as a failed attempt at giving his own twist to the Basic Channel sound turned out to be a driving, dark, melancholic and unforgiving techno track with a dash of trance. A perfect introduction to Jean-Jacques’ sound.

A2. ODE TO THE FLOOR
The most driving track of the EP, “Ode To The Floor” is a no compromise and old school inspired dance track. It is all about energy and impact, the sound of the amps begging you to turn it down knowing fully well you won’t.

B1. THALYS
The breaky “Thalys” is heavily inspired by a lot of the (sometimes unintentional) noisy stuff Jean-Jacques started listening to earlier on. Aliasing, zero crossing clicks, clipping and noise introduced by lossy formats is something the first generation of portable media formats brought us, and what he grew up with. “Thalys” is Jean-Jacques embracing the sound of the 64kbs digital revolution.

B2. CLUTTER
“Clutter” bridges the club and home listening environment to make a nod to electro with generative sound design, etheral overlapping melodies and some killer breaks.
