After running parties in Liverpool for nearly a decade, Abandon Silence turn their hand to releasing music rather than relaying it with the launch of Abandon Silence Records. The label will be used as an output for the sounds of their legendary parties with a series of club tracks ready for dancefloors beyond the North West. The label also focuses on new talent, with a preference to those from Liverpool and Merseyside, with the first release coming from Scouse native Lucas Welle.
The mysterious Lucas has prepared two slices of dancefloor delight primed and ready for festival season, with support already coming from names such as Jackmaster, The Black Madonna, Monki, Moxie and Denis Sulta. 'Don’t Tell Me' and 'Touch' take slight samples from obscure 70s disco and flips them into bangers made for sweaty basements.
On the B Side there are two contrasting remixes, also from Merseyside acts. The Mele remix of 'Don’t Tell Me' takes the title track from the club to the festival adding hats and power to the title track. B2 comes from the elusive Dr Harvey, who joins Abandon Silence under a new moniker and sound, easing ‘Touch’ and the listener to 6am and the after party with his ‘Sunrise Mix’. Bringing soothing pads and stretching the keys, his track is perfect for the beach.
With three further releases slated for 2018, and with the focus being on the club, Abandon Silence Records looks set to be stockpiling the dance floors for a while yet! [info from ld]
