Iyewaye, Oliver Koletzkis first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist’s sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track Iyewaye, turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jams makeover explores the tracks captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused Ipuza gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the tracks initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.
