Sales Information:

For the next instalment of this in-demand vinyl-only imprint, Kaye makes a welcome return, lending his midas touch to two stone-cold classics, adding new musical elements (guitar courtesy of his son, Jack), stretching out the groove and warming up the bottom end for some serious dance floor business.

Written by Maurice White, Al McKay and Phillip Bailey, 'Saturday Nite' was first released in 1976 as a single and later included on the classic Earth, Wind & Fire LP, 'Spirit'. Here, Kaye masterfully revisits the production, bringing a contemporary touch to this timeless feel-good tune.

Next up is 'One Nation Under A Groove', the 1978 anthem by P Funk exponents Funkadelic, renamed here as 'For The Funk Of It'. The title track from their album of the same name, its lyrics refer to dancing as a way to freedom. The Derek Kaye rework features a newly added low-down funky guitar riff, again via Jack, that locks the groove from the first bar, before the opening lyrics (borrowed from 'Psychedelic Shack ' by The Temptations) cause guaranteed dance floor delight.
