In 2012, a young duo from Vienna proved to be one of the great success stories of Europe’s electronic music landscape: HVOB (short for “Her Voice over Boys") only uploaded initial snippets on Soundcloud last April, reached number 4 in the Beatport Deep House Charts with their debut EP “Dogs", number 10 in the Top Live Acts of the Year and number 11 in the Best Singles of 2012 in DE:BUG’s readers’ poll, while performing live at festivals such as Germany’s Melt!. Moreover, the year was concluded by a particular honour: the leading Lebanese-French fashion designer Elie Saab chose HVOB’s sound for his new collection video. With their inaugural release, Anna Müller (composition, production, vocals) and Paul Wallner (composition and final production) managed to create an entirely new and unique world of sound: HVOB represent intelligent and sophisticated electronic music that is equally emotive and melodic. 2013 kicks off with the release of HVOB’s second EP: “Jack” will be available on vinyl and Beatport on February 22. Here, the duo presents two new original tracks in the form of “Jack” and “Moon", while one will also find two prominent remixes of “Jack". The Berliner DJs Niconé & Sascha Braemer weave the original’s driving beats and Anna Müller’s hypnotic voice into their own sound aesthetic, and Valencia’s Edu Imbernon transforms “Jack” into a dark and forceful deep house track.
