Following the mammoth >Dynamite & Laserbeamsy< remix package and a stream of hard hitting releases in 2011 from Fergie himself, Excentric Muzik turns to Arjun Vagale to provide the 38th EXM release as he makes his full debut on the label...
As well as being a good friend of ours here at Excentric Muzik, Arjun is also one of India’s most promising talents and rising stars. For those unacquainted with his name, Arjun’s career began with him winning the New Dehli DMC DJ Championship at just 20 years of age. Later he became one third of the “Jalebee Cartel“ (one of the biggest live EDM acts in India), on top of their prestigious status the forward thinking band are credited with being the first to release an album on USB in India and also the first to stream a gig live on the internet. More recently his solo “Do D Do EP” on our Tribal Rage label back in January was supremely received, with Carl Cox, Sebastian Leger and Karotte all heavily supporting the tracks. And still fresh in the memory is last month’s highly rated remix of Fergie’s album track “Come With Me”, which brings us straight to this double header.
We start with “Drohnen”, a fiery Techno-edged track that sits neatly between the darker shades of the genre and the tougher end of the Tech House spectrum. It rattles along with a large supply of heavy bass, driving forward as the tension builds towards a dramatic break with an impact designed to cause maximum dance-floor damage. On the “flip”, “Tin Kan’ offers an alternate cut that heads down a warmer house-influenced route. Irresistible and hypnotic grooves swing throughout with an incredibly addictive and energetic loop providing the backdrop for a lively workout that should provoke even the most stalest of rooms into an outbreak of full-on rave madness.
