Williams EP (played and praised by Sinden, Kode9, 2562, Brodinski, Joy Orbison, Gerd Janson and more), >Heartbeat< sees him team up with Terri Walker, who earlier this year inked an album deal with none other than Roc-a-fella Records.
The pair make for a special combination - ‘Heartbeat' is nocturnal house with a subtly thudding bassline and a beautifully vulnerable vocal, catchy enough to sit in a set with UK Funky anthems, but with well-honed production chops that render it close to the peak time house and techno of Ame and Mathew Jonson. Early support comes from Four Tet, Christian Martin, Rob Mello, Martyn, Roman Flugel, Ben UFO, KiNK, Brackles, Gilles Peterson, Ashley Beedle, Toddla T and more.
On the B-side, Mosca (Fabric / Night Slugs / Numbers) comes through with an amazing remix, starting with brushed jazz drums and languid piano before rolling into a sick, elasticated bassline and climaxing on a Todd Edwards-esque chopped-up vocal work-out.
‘Heartbeat' is the third release on Local Action, following T. Williams' debut EP and the Killer EP by Svpreme Fiend, which was massively acclaimed in Resident Advisor (4.5/5 rating), FACT (4/5), XLR8R, DJ Mag and more.
