Since 2002, Resopal and it s imprint Red have been relevant labels for anyone of distinction in the electronic music scene. Hosted by MRI and based in berlin the label head now presents a new series named RESOPAL SPECIAL. The aim is to release wonderful designed limited vinyl editions with designed gadgets like postcards, stickers, flyers. As well as the design, the music should gain attention and is extraordinary as well. Special 001 kicks off with a monster three-track EP by LULA CIRCUS. Coming hot on the heels of groovy stripped down dancefloor the duo confirm Resopal s commitment to stretch electronic dance music s form to fit a more expanded frame. These are for sure dancefloor tracks, but they re tunes of a different sort. While too many hit records beat their riffs like dead horses and treat their listeners little better, Lula Circus turn their attention to gauzier classic elements: ghost melodies, jackhouse snare patterns, crazy vocals, iridescent timbres that flash once and are gone.
