Impressive debut EP from new duo Bearweasel are a new production duo, consisting of Dean Muhsin and Louisa Page. With a remix already out on Perc Trax they debut with this superb EP for Audioflys new label. Opening track >Monkier< is brilliant. Combining a touch of Latin percussion with swollen basslines and brilliant horn stabs scattered througout its one of my favourite tracks of recent months. Second track >Drummer< is just as good – its wonky techhouse with a funky bassline and small-but-effective breakdown. Remix of >Monkier< comes from my favourite Hamburg-based Croatian, Solomun. His version takes it deeper, with a lazier attitude but a warm vibe. A quality debut and a duo to watch out for in 2008.
