the next release on rinse is the second in a series of three eps of gorgeous, punch-drunk house music from label regular rupert taylor, aka xxxy. the follow-up to last years acclaimed 18 hours, it is a further spiral inwards for the tripped-out, wistful style he has increasingly come to make distinctly his own, with clouds of arpeggiated synth notes and vapourised voice rolling atop pillow-soft, droning bass.

dubstep and garage pioneer zed bias is set to release a brand new album, titled boss, on november 25th through loefahs revered swamp81 imprint. the lp is bias aka dave joness fourth in total following releases under aliases including maddslinky and phuturistix, and his first for the label. boss also marks swamp81s second ever album release following kryptic minds one of us. zed bias is widely regarded as one of the legends in the bass music game and beyond, with an unquestionable influence on many of todays leading djs and producers including skream, benga, oneman, martyn and disclosure whose chart smash latch featuring sam smith he remixed in 2012.

nonplus+ label owners instra:mental have been working away on solo projects in 2011 with al bleek working under his boddika alias and kid drama as jon convex. here we have boddikas first output on nonplus+ after his debut on naked lunch in 2010 and prior to his forthcoming ep on swamp 81. his work has been supported by djs across the board such as benji b, oneman, scuba, shy fx, martyn, ramadanman, joy orbison, leofah, skream and zed bias amongst many others.

after leaving behind the somalian pirates, geiom is cruising the sunny waters of the indian ocean when he picks up a distress signal on his scanner. he follows the signal until he locates a tiny remote island and a guy called bowly, who said that he was on his way from france to the new world, but got totally lost. judging by the age of the map he was using its easy to see how. bowly spent his time on the island hanging out with the locals who amuse themselves by creating a unique style of music on some amazing handcrafted instruments. geiom helps bowly get on his way again, and leaves him with a more useful map. some months later, bowly beams over his music as a gift from his new found homeland in canada ? the tracks are like some strange mutation of those distant tropical players and the uk-based pirate radio transmissions that bowly has been tuning into ? geiom loves the result and decides to send them straight over to transition in london for mastering and release on berkane sol. this 12 has been getting played by selectors like ? subswara crew nyc (soul motive), brackles (rinsefm), grevious angel (soul jazz), martin kemp (blunted robots), cooly g (hyperdub), shortstuff (ramp), spamchop (wigflex), oneman (rinsefm)?
