jackson & his computerband entstand im dunstkreis der letzten disco-funken der french-house-bewegung, aus dem auch daft punk und phoenix entsprangen. jackson zerlegte den filter-house seiner vorgänger und vermischte orchestralen bombast, techno und gothic-hiphop zu einer eigenwilligen mixtur, die einen hauch von post-millennium-barock in den rave zurückbrachte. doch im gegensatz zu daft punk und phoenix verschwand jackson danach in der versenkung, um nun endlich - als neuberliner - den langerwarteten nachfolger abzuliefern. *glow* ist ein lustspiel aus musikalischen obsessionen und furiosem vergnügen, das nur jemand erzeugen kann, der mit hardcore-techno sozialisiert wurde, aber im laufe seiner entwicklung zeitlosen pop und den unklassifizierbaren funk eines prince lieben lernte.
