limited repress! cafe d anvers records, the label created from the same minds behind the infamous belgian club cafe de anvers, are beyond proud to present their very first release, coming at you on vinyl! throughout the years, cafe d anvers club made it their mission to provide nothing but the finest quality house music in a unique setting, this decades old, brightly converted church was thé home base for partygoers of every background and flavor. it is with this mindset they proudly present their first release, brought to you by the belgian duo capoon. capoon is comprised out of techno and house producer & djs jackjazz and lemakuhlar, who have banded together to form this fresh duo. the album title track takes the lead out of the bunch, as the a1 >i got soul (original mix)< blasts off to treat its listeners to a veritable assault of drums, basslines, stabs, and a classic soulful (no pun intended) vocal cut that guides the breakdown to its relentless climax. the frankfurt based producer reboot gives us the honor of hearing his take on the b1 side with this >reboots million souls remix<. very reminiscent of the minimal glorydays, this exquisite union of minimalistic drums, bips, bleeps and faded stabs provides us with reboots unique take on the original. french native, matt sassari takes control of the b2 side with his remixed version, relying on the modern days techno sound, yet keeping it progressively darker in terms of structure and vibe to top off the colourful sound palette of the album. last but not least, and with the dj in mind, capoon dedicated the a2 side to an a2 acapella track, servicing those who want that little extra for their creative needs!

indulge yourself in breakbeat nostalgia expertly crafted for the 21st century. japanese artist missqulater aka keyday kirze delivers 4 tracks of playful rave-influenced braindance. human traffic sampling *bruva gonna take you there* is bursting with the infamous hoover sound from the roland alpha juno (second phase - mentasm et al) and the rest of the ep follows suit with tracks reminiscent of the likes of t99 and djs unite. they rave us reboots a genre from the golden years of electronic music and has lots of fun in the process.

the founder of cécille records together with his partner nick curly brings his second release on numbers. two strong massive tracks dedicated to the prime time of the dancefloor.

kill the pain: epic is the only way to describe the extended intro of kill the pain, featuring acoustic guitar and an earnest male vocal. then, just before two minutes in, things quickly take a nasty turn as choppy breaks splinter into pieces and the bassline reboots the texas chainsaw massacre. an aggressive, genre bending, sure fire floor smasher.
letting go: teaming up with kryteria for the flip, a eurphoric, trancey intro leads into a chainsaw reece, setting the scene for the chaotic chiaroscuro to come: beyond the drop sweeping synths and ethereal vocal snippets somehow successfully coalesce with heavily edited breaks and sawing bass, creating a kind of beautiful violence. subsequently, side effects of letting go include spontaneous eruptions of feet on the floor and hands in the air.

emptiness isnt a quality you normally associate with electronic dance music. from the crowd on the associate with electronic dance music. from the crowd on the dancefloor to the weight of the bass, its all about fullness, volume, density. reboot turns that opposition on its head with his debut album, shunyata. the title comes from buddhism and translates loosely as >emptiness.< but not just in the negative sense: it speaks also to impermanence, a state of constant flux. its a great description of reboots music, where everything is in constant and kaleidoscopic motion. and its also a fitting metaphor for the life of the frankfurt-based musician, aka frank heinrich. in just three years, since his first eps under the reboot moniker appeared on cadenza and below, hes become one of electronic musics hottest properties, releasing not only a slew of singles for labels like cocoon, love letters from oslo, ricardo villalobos >sei es drum< and underground cult fave motivbank, but also a pair of high-profile mix cds for cocoon and cécille

vol.2 with remixes from robag wruhme, reboot, martinez !! hailing from berlin norman weber and marco resmann released an album in autumn 2009 that can be easily called a success. this is why there were no problems at all to find an illustrious circle of remixers. jena-based robag wruhme already contributed one remix to matthias tanzmanns >bulldozer< in 2006. the old partnership was now revived and robag wruhme was asked for a reinterpretation of another moon harbour track. his version of >mr. jack< captivates you with its mix of funk and darkness and has an overwhelming effect on the dance floor

incl reboot remix !! wareika is the collaboration of henrik raabe and jakob seidensticker, both specialists in dub techniques (voidcom / ministry of sound, jubilee rec., ostwind rec, lebensfreude rec.), jack-of-all-trades florian schirmacher (philpot, cadenza, perlon, poker flat) and michael hank. >men village< – their first production as a collective - comes up with almost 15 minutes afrorelated drums and percussions, accompanied by warm analog-synth raster scanning and highlights, served on a pushing, strong-force but simple beat, that carries one’s body and on and on. reboot – the below and cadenza artist reduced the original to its more rhythm-based elements and added his typical trippin percussion twist

new bomb from west london don phil asher..... phash continues his raw fusion escapades with this recycled and well improved reggae groove made in a true restless soul spirit. together with uk singer shea soul and mc motet of the bugz crew, phil rocks the joints on this original brentford all stars sample and reboots it into the future of cyberspace. with nice punch bits like baby girl, im looking at the front door, motet slices it up and gives room for shea soul as she melts our hearts with her smooth vocal chords. and dubbed out of his mind, phil keeps going for an instrumental dub version where it (by way of the tape delay inferno) gets the true king tubby treatment.
