appleblim’s third 12&#8243,,, for tempa touches on the sonic territories explored on his first 12&#8243,,, (the experimental and amorphus ‘wandered’ from tempa101) while expanding on those ideas. the first track ‘minus degree’ is appleblim at his most experimental. a beatless affair of sparse soundscapes and atmospheres. full of tension, and crucially no release, you are swept away by the waves of synths and sub bass. next track ‘move them’ is more traditional appleblim - 4x4 and dub techno chords build a sense of momentum over the space of 7 minutes. a traditionally leaning techno tune with a uk twist, appleblim’s use of space and tension will keep any raver entranced. final track ‘twist it down’ rounds out the ep with a subtle roller. broken drum patterns and bright synths help in stripping away some of the darker undertones prevalent in the previous tracks.

repress - tyrone davis was a hugely prolific blues & soul singer who was born in mississippi in 1937. he started his career as blues legend freddie king’s personal chauffeur and valet and cut a few soul 45’s that didn’t make too much noise at the time. a few years later things had turned around for young tyrone and he’d caught the ear of chicago music impresario carl davis who had just set up his own label - dakar records. having worked with legendary outfits including the chi-lites, bohannon, jackie wilson and many more, carl davis was exactly the link that tyrone needed to gain more exposure for his music. after a very successful career with dakar and almost 25 singles with the label across 7 years, tyrone signed to major columbia which is where, in 1978, this much sought after promo-only disco jammer came from. released in limited quantities and only available as a columbia white-label dj promo “get up (disco)” is a total mid-tempo burner, raw funked-out soul of the highest degree! true underground disco flavour here, one for the freaks, smooth, but heavy enough to cause some serious damage in the dance. featured here in it’s original promo 12- mix, untouched and backed with the equally dope “in the mood” from 1979. some of you will undoubtedly recognise “in the mood” as a jam that was heavily sampled by the beatnuts, faith evans, mc eiht, redman and more! this one’s a low slung, lights down lovers jam and the perfect foil to the a-side. two heavyweight jams on one 12”, remastered from the original source material and 100% legit, reissued with the full consent of sony / columbia records. essential for all disco / soul / funk fans.

various creatures of the native flora and fauna are interpreted musically on dominik eulbergs label apus apus. the music pieces are thoughtfully presented with 2 tracks per ep. his first ep features the track bienenfresser (eng. bee-eater) on the a side and blauracke (engl. blue roller) on the flip side. the bee-eater is the most colorful bird of our native lands a quality which is echoed through the piece of the same name. the composition oscillates from one color into another without losing its significant habitus. it is a musical journey through the color scheme of the bee-eater, through which dominik eulberg takes us by way of his iconic style. he succeeds at a striking balancing act between sensitive subtlety and steady pressure, in order to offer us a satisfying share of hedonism. it is a piece of music that provides an intimate listening experience, while simultaneously supplying listeners with a collective, mobilizing anthem. the long introduction of the track emulates the agile flight for prey of the dazzling bird, but then it fervently taps out the stinger of the captured bee, and finally nothing can stand in the way of the massiveness of the celebratory bass drum. intrepid, yet with a high degree of ataraxia, dominik leads us through the skies on an expedition into the colorful land of the bee-eater. the magnificent turquoise blue plumage of the blue roller glimmers green or blue, depending on the quality of light. these colors, translated into worlds of sound, are reflected in this piece of the same name. sparkling melodies intertwine gracefully along musical chains, and create a constant redefinition of the theme. the piece is inviting and catchy in the typical eulbergian manner submerging into the auditory tract and manifesting itself with much elegy in the deepest cortex. the blue roller is a sit-and-wait hunter at first occupied with idleness, until finally capturing its anticipated prey. this imperturbable serenity is felt in this piece of music and illustrates eulberg s many years of knowledge and experience. he steers his audiences through the true essence of music, while always keeping both hands firmly on the wheel.

ltd repress! dominik eulberg’s second ep on his label apus apus features the track “roter gitterling“ (eng. basket stinkhorn / red cage) on the a side and „tintenfischpilz“ (engl. octopus stinkhorn / devil s fingers) on the flip side. a. roter gitterling the fleshy red cage of this kind of mushroom reminds of a merging of an upside down shopping string bag and an alien. not allowing any objection, the track strides forward with determination towards a musical interpretation of this strange being. a fulminant kick drum counteracts in a very prosaic way the bitter-sweet pads. in a very narrative fashion the track gathers speed and flocks diverse soundscapes and disembogues in a break of harmonical expanse. conciliatory and in a hedonistic way the bass drum eventually stitches together what belongs to each other. b. tintenfischpilz this bizarre looking extraterrestrial mushroom evokes at first glance the image of a dead octopus or radioactive vegetable. as in a science fiction movie four to six tentacles sprout and raise out of a common stinkhorn and later spread into a star shape look. in an unparalleled manner this stunning progression is executed musically by eulberg with a high degree of elaboration. all done with elegant blend of continuous progression and permanent change the track wreathes itself towards heaven, whereas fragmented melody artifacts pour into the shape of a miraculous emergence.

nice price deal !!! ferdinando apicella a.k.a. singular anomalies was born in naples. he has his first approach with the music when at the age of 10 his father gave him his first piano keyboard. in 1994 he listened to for the first time to a techno tape from derrick may, he had directly a big passion for techno detroit. so he started playing with his first vinyls, knowing labels as metroplex, underground resistance, transmat, axis, m-plant, and following djproducers like jeff mills, robert hood, kenny larkin, mike banks. for a period of time, he abandoned the techno scene to learn some jazz music, but after some years, obsessed by the techno music, he started studying seriously electronic music production, obtaining the degree of sound engineer and sound designer.
