jens kuhn from schmalkalden in thuringia has been producing electronic music since 1995.

what is this? we actually dont know but it is new and wonderful! as one of the most successful artists in contemporary techno music hendrik weber aka pantha du prince presents his new studio project together with workshops stephan abry: ursprung. after several studio sessions in the cold and charming winter of the swiss alps, abry and weber were driven deeper and deeper into some microcosm of sound to almost cut the edge to the myth. influenced by krautrock, the ambient music of harold budd and early brian eno, avantgarde, and the minimalistic guitar sound of durutti collumn the ursprung project cant resist to make the guitar a main source. coming together with highly futuristic sounds as we know from the researches of pantha du prince. a truly unconventional structure of slowly growing beats hold this universe which came from the cold mountains together. it is not the first time the protagonists behind ursprung worked together. they met some ten years ago in hamburg as the photographer and musician stephan abry worked on his workshop project together with the artist kai althoff. hendrik weber was involved in the band stella and both released on hamburgs legendary ladomat 2000 label. a frequent conversation, exchange of music and some sessions made them work on pantha du prince works. mostly recorded in that white out background of the alps it was clear from the beginning- a unique project will come one day. now ursprung is here and lets us forget time and memory. stephan abry and hendrik weber wonder what is this? we actually dont know at all but it is new and wonderful!

the fruit tree foundation is an independent project that grew from the scottish mental health arts and film festival. ed by emma pollock (formerly of the delgados) and rod jones (idlewild), the fruit tree foundation also features james graham (twilight sad), scott hutchison (frightened rabbit), jill o sullivan (sparrow and the workshop), alasdair roberts, james yorkston, karine polwart and jenny reeve. the artists wrote and rehearsed the album over a long weekend in a remote perthshire farmhouse and recorded the final album in chem19 studios. the songs were written with a view to focussing on issues of mental health and wellbeing. artwork design by aidan moffat.

500 limited edition cd that comes with 32 page comic novel. and illustrated by ulrich troyer. songs for william is the first in a trilogy of experimental dub projects from ulrich troyer and deep medi musik. ulrich troyer was born in innsbruck and raised in tyrol austria, he studied architechure and music at university and now resides in vienna where he lives and works as a freelance artist and musician. ulrich has been producing music and experimenting with electronics for over 10 years on various projects that include soundtracks for movies, dance productions, exhibitions and sound installations. since 2005 ulrich has also been performing live as a member of the vegetable orchestra. songs for william sees ulrich explore his love for dub music and the experimentations of pioneers such as king tubby, sound dimension and rhythm and sound alongside the influences of mulatu, tony allen and the psychedelic sounds of selda. to accompany this release is the first part chapter of a comic novel featuring the main character william (a guitar effect pedal!) and his journey! all analogue synthesizers, effects, stompboxes, samplers, guitars, percussion and melodica played, programmed, recorded and dubbed by ulrich troyer at the 4bit studio vienna.

bei -celestial vibration- handelt es sich um das 1978 erstmals veroeffentlichte debuetalbum von edward larry gordon, der vor allem unter seinem pseudonym laraaji bekannt wurde. entdeckt wurde laraaji von niemand geringerem als brian eno, der ihn in einem new yorker park hat spielen hoeren und 1980 auf seinem album -ambient 3: day of radiance- weltweit bekannt wurde. gordons hauptinstrument ist die zither, die er bisweilen elektrisch verstaerkt und wie ein klavier spielt. 1943 in philadelphia geboren, studierte gordon musiktheorie, bevor er nach new york zog. -celestial vibration- erschien 1978 in einer auflage von 500 exemplaren und war quasi seitdem nicht mehr erhaeltlich. die zwei je 24 minuten langen stuecke des albums haben trotz ihres jazzhintergrunds beide einen sehr meditativen charakter, wobei das zweite rhythmisch und kompositorisch ein wenig anspruchsvoller ist. gordon, der in monroe, new york, ein aschram gruendete und mittlerweile einen lach-meditations-workshop betreibt, hat seit seinem debuet mehr als 50 alben mit meditationsmusik veroeffentlicht.
