originally released in 2011 on 2 different eps & out of print for a long time, those 4 remixes done by the legends ron trent, gene hunt & merwyn of virgo four gets a re-issue. a timeless classic.

the second of two brilliant eps produced by merweyn saunder and eric lewis. although this was released under a different name, they were actually all done in the set of sessions that also gave us the previous release, the virgo four ep. as far as the duo were concerned m.e. was their name and virgo was imposed on them by someone at trax. the two eps were later conjoined and released as an album in the uk radikal under the name virgo. it was re released in 2010 by rush hour.

fresh from his outing on inkswel s hot shot sounds label, ex uk now melbourne based artist paradise box brings four freeform nu groove style excursions to echovolt, flipping the quintessential house acapella on reel nitty gritty into a burrell brothers style banger. the other tracks touch on virgo four, mr fingers and classic wbmx style hardware soul, making a virtue of idiosyncrasy and showcasing the fallibilities of the human touch. the whole ep harks back to an era where having limited means meant that loose and expressive soulful endeavor was pursued over high production values and rigid conformism.

mallorcas dakpa has been on a roll since amam released his debut ep last fall. he has contributed to several compilations, including amams own hand out series, kina music s fade to k pt. 3 and wizz vinyl s sonar sampler 2014, plus eps for labels like district raw and serial number 849. but amam gets the honor of issuing his first own vinyl release, the distres ep. the opening title track is an exercise in jacking minimalism, vibrant tech house with just the essentials, but more than enough to get the floor moving. then, ademus gets into a slightly more colorful groove, with tropical percussive interplay and some whooping voice for a humanistic accent (is that brigitte bardot?). on the flip, virgo gives a modern update to the frenzy of acid house. the title alone brings virgo four to mind. on that note, this one is an effective tool for warping minds and evoking spastic dance moves. finally, the dependable gaetano vinci a.k.a. hooved reinterprets ademus with a heavy dose of melodic funk and symphonic washes, making the track into an entirely new creation.

this third release in the series mostly touches on the magic of jamie principle. however, this ep opens with a sublime deep vocal track originally released on trax sub-label saber in 1991 by ace & the sandman (who are also responsible for the virgo four tracks). featured here are some of jamie principles best tracks, produced by frankie knuckles. as with many trax releases, there are lots of unreleased , reel to reel only mixes around. we came across an unreleased version of >bad boy<. the quality is not at best, but we included it nevertheless. magic stuff!
