quartz rec is pleased to welcome the duo doomwork based in rome and well known for them amazing groove, there music is emotive and immersive with melodies and riff locked into rolling rhythms and subtle atmospherics.and its with no surprise that they are coming with an outstanding ep on quartz rec, first track « nihil sine sole » super trippy track with some great congas slowly and this beautiful pad building a great atmosphere. second track « memento » getting more into deep techno with class, tracks talk for itself. we have also two remixes, first one is from ambivalent who deliver a big stomper techno mix ready to smash the dance floor, second is from ness who bring a driving techno track melt with the pad from the original who will make lose yourself.

here is finally the first single from yakine, a close member to the eklo family. after his featuring on the hooksey vol.1, he gave us four tracks which he worked specially for this ep. yakine explored a new sound, some more melodic and deeper works, different from his usual stuff. captor of sin, the main track here. we find yakine in a more pop dimension with the vocals. the metric rhythm is mix it up with sub and perky shuffle grooves, everything harmonized through a lead ambiance made of weird synts & pads. then shirp, lead from synths, the track go on in the same vibe, more excentric and percussive, rounded beat, and a slap bass, 80s funk type. on the flip, temptation, a more singular track, a great detroit techno influenced, with his unusual keys and some indus sounds. the story ending with aferone, a deep and sensitive balad, overhang by a poetic piano coming and going all along. solid and versatile 12 inch.

tikita welcomes neel for a first release in collaboration with label mainstays natural/electronic.system. the four tracks here cover deep, rolling, dubby tribal techno. the opener is sparse and dark, gracida is more urgent and alien with watery droplets and wet melodies, then sinistra is mind melting and loopy techno that takes you into the cosmos. last of all, percussiva has supple jeff mills style synths warping round each other as heavy drums pound below. it is brilliantly consuming techno from some of the best in the game.

a legend to those who know, todd sines makes his first appearance on circus company in a fit of sharp-edged, wildly expressive house music that harks back to the unhinged early days of the label. sines has a career that stretches back to the early 90s, having released lauded records under the .xtrak moniker on peacefrog and 7th city amongst other legendary labels.
