phat 2020 album !! an album had been finished by the spring of 95 and all recorded onto dat and placed in a box. k&d pressed up 10 copies and gave 4 away to some suitably eccentric individuals. fast-forward a quarter century and that box was discovered, the music was transferred from the dats and k&d painstakingly rebuilt every molecule that made up the original 10 copies. the long-awaited result is here - 15 glorious tracks that will transport listeners back to the smoky haze of 1995.

it has been eleven long years since urbs dropped his last album which was called “toujours le meme film”. back then, the musician, dj and producer created the soundtrack to a fictitious film noir, which was released on kruder & dorfmeister‘s g-stone label, but after touring europe he almost completely retreated from public life. he does not consider his creativity as being his career, but rather as a part of his life which rarely is subject to concrete planning, and that is why urbs quite consciously took his time to create his latest –untitledalbum.

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).

rundum-sorglos-groove-paket zum zurŸcklehnen und genie§en. re-release von 2000. sei es mit peter kruder als kruder & dorfmeister oder rupert huber als tosca, wenn richard dorfmeister seine finger im spiel bzw. an den reglern hat, darf man sich auf entspannt-fluffige klŠnge zwischen trip-hop, dub und downtempo einrichten. tosca wurde 1994 gegrŸndet, erstaunlicherweise schon kurz nach dem start von k&d. ihr debŸt gaben tosca 1997 mit -opera-. dessen nachfolger -suzuki- kam im jahr 2000 in die lŠden. beide alben erschienen bei !k7 und g-stone, dem label von peter kruder und richard dorfmeister. -suzuki- hat nichts mit kleinen japanischen autos oder monsterbikes zu tun, vielmehr versteht sich die veršffentlichung als hommage an den zen-meister shunryu suzuki. das album enthŠlt in der cd-version zwšlf und in der vinyl-ausgabe neun instrumentaltracks, in die vocal-samples instrumentenartig eingeflochten wurden. vielen fans des šsterreichischen duos gilt -suzuki- mit seinen -hypnotic, deeply chilled-out epics- (allmusic) als dessen beste einspielung. die neuauflage von -suzuki- ist die erste seit 2000.

it was fitting that brazilian-born, austria-based artist joyce muniz broke through in an era characterised by the cross-pollination and globalisation of music. initially combining the sounds and rhythms of her home country with contemporary european electronic sounds, she later morphed into a house / techno producer of the highest calibre. along the way she worked with the likes of maya jane coles and viennese legends kruder & dorfmeister and released on influential imprints like 2020 vision and shir khanÕs exploited. itÕs the latter which has been her main platform for releasing music since 2011 and where she now unleashes her full-length debut album, made in vienna.
