harry j galt als einer der wichtigsten produzenten jamaikas, betätigte sich aber auch selbst als musiker. mit seinen allstars genannten studiomusikern brachte er drei instrumental-alben heraus. das debüt gibt es jetzt als re-release auf vinyl in 180g. *liquidator* erschien 1969 und wurde vor allem in großbritannien ein großer erfolg. der titeltrack zählt zu den wichtigsten songs der damals entstehenden skinhead-kultur und schaffte es auf platz 9 der uk singles charts. weitere highlights auf *liquidator* sind die rocksteady/reggae-versionen des beatles-songs *dont let me down* und des bardot/gainsbourg-duetts *je t aime*. in seinem harry j studio nahmen u.a. bob marley & the wailers auf. dort empfing harry auch musikgrößen wie die rolling stones, the who oder grace jones.

killer deep house release on ripperton s perspectiv label. up and coming artist st blomb with a epic building track with a tribal feel to it and an almost cosmic psychelic synth line. one of those tracks that takes things to another level once played at the right moment! soulphiction taking things back to the floor and keep them feet moving by added a warm blanket of chords and lush grooves. and jackmate turns precious soul into a proper dj tool adding some chicago flavors, immediately resulting in raving feedback and chart positions with several key players and german groove magazine. nice one!

the longawaited counterpart to the world famous: eve by day !! big with: anja schneider, adam beyer, joris voorn, steve bug, joel mull, dominik eulberg, james holden, laurent garnier, solomun, ripperton after admired releases on poker flat and of course connaisseur, things were a bit quiet around patrick chardronnet. these days are over now! patrick returns with a big bang offering this wonderful double a-side on connaisseur recordings and opens a new chapter of his delightfully, trippy & emotional adventures. enchanting, mesmeric and deeply touching, these two up-building tracks are reinforcing chardronnets hypnotic side once again. boggler is a simple and reduced spacer that features wonderfully processed drums and an endless arpeggio hypnosis. the track works highly effective only with a few elements until the beat comes back after a massive break. underlined with a strong sub-bassline, the whole track starts to fly away and is taking the whole dancing crowd with on its journey. eve by night – a counterpart to >eve by day<, patricks biggest hit so far, starts rather smoothly and upbuilding. then the track turns to a skipping, complex and meandering monster, which is jacked-up with some dirty hats and a playful synth theme. the theme deconstructs more and more and a logarithm assembles the parts of the theme to a new and unexpected melody experience. sophisticated !
