sue zukis inaugural recorded document the we are all very anxious tape is in our opinion one of the most innovative audio expeditions that has resonated with us. boldly defying and deconstructing conventional genre tropes we arent being bias by saying that either. this is a genuinely sincere perspective. the key to sue zukis music is her vocals where she misanthropically preaches the records themes of psychological alienation and despair, trapped within an augmented virtual reality. whilst trapped and unable to properly function inside this distorted simulation there are the bewildering sounds of a thousand voices and every conversation unhealthily looping inside yourre mind, through the echo chamber. manifesting into a bleak neurotic obsession and feelings of inadequacy, a desperate plea, blinded and fatigued by the unnerving glare of the computer screen, processing too much information and not knowing if the human interactions youre experiencing are genuine or artificial.

we eroded pre-existent structures constructing an open heterotopic space, a horizontal and vertical thinking found its way through physical- and cyberspace, here, nothing manifested instantly - flippancy left space for any kind of interaction and appropriation. within (or well beyond) economic pressure points which diluted production, this was our opportunity to try out different potentials with no restrictions to the public, while simultaneously scrutinising the general framework of institutions and human behaviours. subversive potential always was variable, always asking, deconstructing and reconfiguring itself allowing new states of aggregation within diffuse interspaces and futures

&apos’s music veers between abstract, experimental compositions and more beat driven tracks, all held together by a defined aesthetic of sonic impurities and random patterns thrown up by algorithmic computations. in &apos’s music compositional decisions are not merely reliant on himself but also on a range of processes from constrained randomness to full fledged neural networks. that is to say, the ‘instruments’ he creates have -to a certain extent- a mind of their own. there will always be a dynamic between the musician and something else that triggers, proposes or decides what will happen to the music.it is exactly from this human-machine interaction that &apos extrapolates his musical ideas that are both intricate and detailed while never losing an overall sense of emotional value. his first solo project ‘lichtdrank’ is a selection of four tracks made during his time studying sonology at the hague’s royal conservatory and the time following. it is the third and final installment of bepotel s startuplabel trilogy. previously, he has released music together with walrus and sagat under several musical projects like smaakwaterval and bepotel. the artwork of the lichtdrank ep is based on screenshots from an interactive multiplayer video game where the musical universe of &apos can be explored.

hidhawk is the musical alter ego of haydeé jiménez. the mexican-based artist and cultural entrepreneur is running a busy life organizing events and cultural projects alongside the border of mexico and the us. during the night, bedtime stories like alpagain evolve from the field recordings she is collecting on her various journeys. alpagain consists of recordings from istanbul, tijuana, berlin and salzburg, featuring sounds of alpine instruments such as the alphorn, ocarina and hammered dulcimer (hackbrett). the 15 minutes track is brought to the club context on the b-side of the record with a driving remix by gerald peklar and a dub retreatment by analog solutions mastermind eduardo de la calle.

evan caminitis slow but steady progression towards electronic music from sand-swept guitar drone mirrors the pace of the music he makes. it has been measured, each move well-considered and clearly intentional. caminiti has immersed himself in electronic production on meridian, creating organic sounds through his machines, patching sounds that recall the brassy resonance of horns and hazy choral clusters. synthesizers hiss and crackle under layers of reverb and fog. sounds undulate and implode in upon themselves, with bursts of noise dropping in and out to create shadows of rhythm. caminitis electronic systems do not run autonomously - the sounds heard on meridian required real-time human interaction to bring them to life, and that human touch is essential to the mysterious atmosphere he produces on this new album.

working together in person has been an important point in cavaans collaborations lately - much preferring the human interaction and local landscapes over the soulless exchange of sound files over the internet. with this point taken care of, the two cavaan guys struck out in a berlin, heidelberg and venice studio. while the awesomeness of the cities kept the team quiet the landscape nonetheless teamed with sounds.

transmitting from the heart of the american midwest, skoozbot has rapidly gained a reputation for insightful techno futurism. his main preoccupation focuses on the interaction between humans and technology, especially the ability to capture split second emotions, recreate them using electronic sounds and then play them out over a six minute track, letting them evolve naturally albeit in sometimes unexpected directions. the rising sap contains a selection of tracks written during the transition from winter to spring as life returns to the surface of the planet bringing with it the most vibrant sensory experiences. in a sense these colours, fragrances and forms allow us to transcend time through memories and association and skoozbot is driven to capture these precious fragments and examine them from all angles in the suspended animation that the minimal techno environment so perfectly creates.
