it is time to discuss fundamentals. for his second appearance on laut & luise constantijn lange shows his interpretation of human mannerisms that contrast so much while being closely entangled. able to deliver both pain and satisfaction alike, its apparent simplicty may deliver the purest bliss while the complexity of its impact can at times feel devestating: power & love. for the first part of this pair onosizo stands by to passionately proclaim and address the true nature and dangers of power. in contrast the second part of this ep is a musical dedication to all the light hearted and emphatic moments, a chance to brighten up and an invitation to feel untroubled, if only for a few minutes. just like a mapleseed rhino would do.

pwfm record002 intends to be a vinyl with multiple facets and aspirations. obviously, the prevailing desire is to introduce young talents, that will compose the tomorrow’s scene, among a novice or informed public. eclectic by the choice of its tracks, the path and universe of each artist, this record wish to offer a musical trip, while touching the maximum number of persons, without limitation to a particular musical genre. no need to be confined to a musical genre, the richness of record002 come and meet the multiple personalities of its artists. young french project, pwfm aspires to develop the springboards, to brighten up the curiosity of music lovers (or not), help and push the young scene, and wish to obtain their adhesion to expand its community.

following on from radio slaves vision that landed earlier on in the year, rekids assembles three colossal remixes from rodhad, obscure shape & shdw and johannes heil. rodhads remix leads the package with tantalising synths, filtered effects and stuttering percussion that together assist in generating an impending tension. on the flip, obscure shape & shdw immediately drop cavernous kicks before the originals distinguishable pads brighten up an otherwise dark and sinister aesthetic. tying up the package, johannes heils ethereal rendition echoes throughout providing a deep and mesmerising conclusion.

the fourth release on the martinez brothers’ cuttin’ headz imprint, the bros from the bronx come up with some old school flavored house vibes with their remix of the basement jaxx feat. sneak “sneakin’ toronto”. they snagged the remix package from the veteran electronic music duo as a lead in to the basement jaxx full length album “juno” expected to be released later in the fall on atlantic jaxx / pias. the vocal version features a flurry of different spoken word phrases chopped up and filtered. the dub is for the vocal-phobic members of the public - a bubbly slice of jackin’ house that will brighten the dance floor.

the occasional (but always excellent) street edits series returns, this time with a trio of high-grade scalpel works from chicago re-edit hero rahaan. as usual, the source material is dusty and obscure, and the reworks revelatory. -city of disco- is in many ways typical of rahaan s work, with carefully cuts and loops being used to create a thumping, house style groove (admittedly one that pays due reverence to the source material). there s more of a celebratory, soulful feel about the impeccable -strung out-, which turns a little-known disco-soul gem into a huggable dancefloor classic. best of all, though, is -brighten you up-, which sits somewhere between later electrofunk and early house, a proto-proto gem, perhaps. either way, it s a killer.

stephan schindler aka kryptic universe aka lockertmatik is a german electronic music producer with a preference for analogue gear. he has a distinct 90s techno and house sound signature without sounding dated or overnostalgic. after making waves on his own (vinyl only) lockertmatik imprint, he got full recognicition through his ep on shtum (uncanny valleys sublabel).
thank something for the interweb, otherwise we might have never been able to get in touch with this obscure talent. we are proud to introduce him in our roster with this fantastic ep, showcasing all of the above mentioned. midnight michigans detroit inspired machine funk, woodbridge st. tearjerking acid bassline & strings and, last but not least, the ridermans fierce analogue bassline and fearless drum programming brighten the catalogue of wolfskuil ltd in many, beautiful ways.

foot & mouths latest comes hot out the blocks with a superb take on see line woman on the a side, toughened up with a heavy swing, crossing that jazz house nexus in perfect precision. on the flip and sunshine of your lov gets tastefully jacked for the floor by the mysterious sir bed & sir go. finally the last lick is a slice of proper bootleg garage.. bright as you like!

outboxx hail from bristol and like much of the great citys output their music has plenty of laidback style and vibe. jacob hodge builds the sharp beats, adds bass depth and controls the technology, matt lambert adds the authentic keys - rhodes and synth licks with beautifully judged hints of jazz, soul and vintage funk.

when he isnt busy touring and recording with various artists as a session drummer (most recently with one beyonce knowles) guillaume jambel aka giom djs and produces deep house music. with only a handful of releases and remixes under his belt on labels such as amenti music, black cherry, tango, eight tracks and aroma its obvious that he is eager not too to spread himself too thinly. this makes us even more privileged to get him onto ornate music. and he certainly doesnt disappoint on blue matter ep which kicks of with bring down the walls a deep house disco builder promoting us to... you guessed it bring down the walls. with a metro area style bass line, warm keys and popping percussion this is bound to make you do exactly thatàin fact it should probably come with a public health warning. i know you were right, probably not something we say very often but here giom says it like he means with a tough kick drum, sweet seductive female vocal, bubbling bassline and a whole heap of other good stuff thrown into the mixer. this phat slab of deep house will brighten up the cloudiest of days, have a listen im sure you ll agree. hailing from brighton c soul are magnus asberg (head honcho of on the house records) and jimmy day. they have appeared on labels such as diy discs, suspect package and have also collaborated with house music legend robert owens on german label plastic city. for c souls on the house remix of i know you were right they strip it right down to the bone and produce a haunting, electronic house music rework. you know we were right!

iron curtis pieces originate in a place simultaneously tuned to the sounds of detroit, chicago and hamburg. in his home town of nürnberg, johannes paluka is more familiarly known under his surname, which he goes by at the turntable. intertwining deep-house with soulful techno in a disturbingly enchanting manner, his sound moves in the equilibrium of reduced, but never minimal. flashes of kitsch brighten the dark universe of iron curtis, but fail to interfere with the melancholy subtext. profound music for the dance floor!

following three acclaimed releases from glimpse, alex jones and shenoda, hypercolour is back again with more super-fresh underground house music to brighten up the dancefloor. this time, we welcome parisian young gun sebastien bouchet, whose releases on freak n chic have been creating quite a stir with discerning djs across the globe. >changing lanes< is a mid-paced, woozy number, with stripped back beats, cascading fx, and bouchets messed-up vocals drifting in and out of the mix. its deep and its druggy, but theres still plenty of movement and groove, making it perfect for the grey hours of the early morning. next up is a remix from jens bond, another superhot producer whose slinky, taut technoid sound has already featured on labels including sender, highgrade and poker flat.

the 2nd release of carsten schorr s label on records is prod. by micha klang, the nürnberg based dj legend. this is minimalbut nevertheless melodic. a special highlight is the remix of tony rohr (cocoon/hidden agenda/dipolter records), one of the most popular live acts of the world, which will brighten up the early morning hours in the clubs! a comment of speedy j: track is the bomb… been hammering it last few weeks!
