recorded in st. petersburg over the course of 2015, this first release on glasgow based imprint 12th isleis a collaborative effort between dices & À,Ý,Ì, Ð,è,ò,ì,-Ê,à,ñ,ê,à,ä, (aka flaty/dada ques), affiliates of the udacha and gost zvuk record labels. titled Ì,û,ñ,ë,å,ï,î,ò,î,ê, (thoughtstream), the lp eschews trend in favour of meaningful sonic discovery, and in doing so offers as much to the adventurous dj as it does the attentive home listener. side a encompasses ambient synth textures reminiscent of 70s-era library music, established upon rhythms that evoke turn of the century detroit house. at once melancholic and playfully optimistic, the six tracks range from rhythmic experiments to sketch-like beatless vignettes. the flip side sets off in a slightly darker tone that is succeeded with pace and persistence in the drum patterns and winding arpeggiated bassline of caleidoscope. alongside the heavily swung hologram, these tracks are very club considerate a function that in no way offsets the records assured narrative purpose. across both a and b the music maintains this singular intent, channelling aspects of early sequence-based electronics and vintage space rock around a diverse and playful compendium of rhythms. comes with screen-printed sleeve, labels and insert.

the aim of „métamorphose“ is to offer a voyage to the listener. the pieces really often start quite dark and then the mood turns into something intimate to catch the audience from the deeper spheres. sometimes it goes the other way as well: the track starts in a happy way and turns into a deeper vibe. by doing so the listener should notice his own feelings and try to completely let himself go. further he should be aware of his emotions: on the one hand the happy and melancholic and on the other hand the dark and rather monotonous side. in addition to the musical part to each track there is a specific artwork which was made while listening to the tracks and is based on the emotional expressions which were triggered by the sounds.

following a brief stint in italy with hesperius draco, frigio records is on the road again, this time crossing the adriatic to hook up with le chocolat noir. the croatian artist, known for disco panonia and his work as honored matres, is no stranger to frigio, having featured on all stars vol 1 in 2014. -transform ep- is introduced by the industrial mental sounds of -greedy pets- and followed by a new name to the roster as june delivers his interpretation of it.

this track has been in my computer since a little while when dj sotofett joined me here in amsterdam, to play an epic back to back at the school (amazing new club here). when i am doing a track, it could go to a lot of different directions as im jamming them for hours in my pipe studio. i sometimes could get lost. so i asked sotofett to join me in the studio to help to finish it. then we ended with those 2 versions of cham, which are, as often when i work with the sextags man, the result of live takes almost unedited. we also add some percussions from shadi khries and we recorded two versions of the same track within hours. one being bass driven with a lot of psychedelic noises and the other one more space-techno. our adventures continues, here is another slice of spaced out music.hope you ll enjoy.

about a year ago nico stojan and acid pauli met at the studio to record some music. while doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. so they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. nothing more to say, but enjoy. call of the valley is the first release on the new label ouie: there has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they are documented by those who were there. ouie is the label to do just that, created by the people who were there, making those shifts.

south london analogue material is back with the long awaited release from keepsakes. whadyyatalkinbout is a ruthless opener, its aggressive, distorted techno with all the keepsakes trademarks. the remix by bas mooy is a dance floor tool and has been doing the damage over the last few months. on the flip gorbs house is rough down tempo stomper with a naughty acid section and forward strategy group finish off with the b side remix giving the ep nice balance.

here we present you a very special ep. riverettes first record of 2016 is a very special one indeed,comprised of two special tracks made by two very special artists. we have been holding onto this one for quite a while as we were afraid putting this two tracks on one record would be overkill, but screw it! - we have never believed there is such a thing as too much awesomeness.
side a sees legowelt doing an edit kind of song in the most legowelt way possible and its not even an edit. the result ... craziness my friends, as can only be done by the mad man himself.
side b is quite a different beast, and one that is quite dear to our heart, as it is the debut of local producing duo dos attack. not ones to release much info about themselves we only know that their debut track was so good it was decided to be put on the other side of a legowelt track.

pocket money returns for their third release and they are back with what could easily be their strongest output yet. just hitting the ripe old age of one, and a couple of releases in, this label has found its stride nicely and starting to turn heads in the scene. taking the spotlight for the deep basics ep is the producer keepin soul, who may only have a handful of releases to his name but puts himself in the spotlight with this deep and meaningful pocket money release. this is a beautifully dusty sounding record, it opens up doing exactly what it says on the tin deep basics and doing them well. this a1 is all about hypnotic grooves undulating against the drive of crisp, warm and exciting percussive grooves.

in the follow up to huxleys widow ep aus present their second offering of 2016 and in doing so welcome back two label favourites: timothy blake and marquis hawkes as hawkes & blake both artists made outstanding debuts for aus last year, with hawkes having more than a hand in blakes stormy search ep before delivering his own disco inflected hit chances. now we see a continuation of the studio chemistry as both parties join forces and present love precipitation: a pair of no frills bombs built strictly for the dancefloor. playful piano lines and jubilant synths are propelled by expertly crafted 909 drums throughout, recalling in equal measure the classic garage sound of detroit and the soulful grooves that emanated from new jersey in the 90s. with hawkes & blake aus continue to maintain the high quality in 2016 and offer us an insight into an exciting new production pairing.

the white noise backdrop of modern life means that without some fine-tuning on our part, even established and progressive artists can become elusive on occasion. but since musical creativity involves a healthy drive to self-determination, and often a keen collaborative spirit, out of earshot doesn’t necessarily mean out of action.

its not often you hear a techno record produced by a total of five people. when it happens, it’s usually to mark a passage and make a statement. sometimes it is a matter of celebrating a rita of passage, a shift into maturity and the embodiment of a new skin. this is what repitch is doing with the fourth and final installment in their “features” series, reuniting all the crew for the the final blast of what’s been a long and massive barrage of heavy techno. this is the collaboration to end them all: repitch founders ascion, d. carbone and shapenoise have shared the studio with longtime allies and. together, they explore a common ground made of pounding metallic percussions, gutwrenching bass and thick, furious grooves, with each producer bringing his own peculiar contributions to the table. this last installment marks the end of a process that accompanied repitch throughout its whole existence, thus enhancing the beginning of a new chapter in the label’s creative output.

brstl returns with two house cuts from jay l, his second release for the label. started in 2011 as a means to highlight house and techno being produced in bristol, the label watched over by shanti celeste and idle hand’s chris farrell is now into double figures.show me on the a-side is a finely constructed piece of house music aimed at djs and dancers. anyone who saw jays recent boiler room debut will know his musical style, steeped in classic us house, soul and boogie but with a tastefully bumpy uk edge. the b-side blue age is a deeper cut living up to its title, all wistfull piano keys and a subdued bass line. this is jay l and brstl doing what they do best, sending vibes from bristol to the world.

we re glad to say welcome to renè for our second wax. with his residency@circoloco in ibiza since years, he had the chance to play at some of the best gigs in the world. his track anything has a unique touch, with a lot of warm and deep pads that match perfectly with bassline, doing a beautiful atmosphere. renè on the keys never fails, that s what we say! alessandro di maria aka sossa is another italian resident dj of circoloco in ibiza. he worked with a lot of amazing artists like mass prod, quenum, subb-an and many more, especially with his own label garbant wave. his track toga is what we call a trip, ranging from minimal beats to deep pads and chords. certainly this one makes the right job in the warm up! we re happy to have the young talent giacomo trevi in the b side. with releases on claque, superfiction, etruria and more, his track voyage has a powerful 909 groove, with an old school pads and some detroit influences in the chords.

and just like that, sounds of the city bring out a new walt j ep! the label is fast becoming recognised for its ability to force mythical house producers from chicago back into the studios after decades of hiatus, and we still don t know how they manage it! after brian harden s recent stormer, this three-tracker by the great walt j is just what we need to sooth our evenings a strong beat winds into starry melodies and forward-thinking percussion on test your limits, while simplicity (the atkins tribute) calls all stations to detroit and lays down some utter truth it s exactly the sort of house music we want to hear bald, fiery, and deep as hell. bypolar, on the other hand, is classic walt just doing his thing dope samples, heavy chords, and dusty drum swings. the quintessential house shit.

ok, we are quite slow on releasing records, but here is our next release on film. we stumbled upon the artist on a reseach for a music video - in the end we didn t discover a video director, but denial.of.service, an artist in many fields including music, video and performance art. as he ist active since the early eighties, he was involved in numerous projects, doing productions, remixes and videos for and with artists like david bowie, attrition extrawelt and daf. if you take a closer look on his artistic activity since the early 80ies ever then you will quickly realize there is a whole universe to uncover foald from around this artist. our suggestion: start with this fine ep, featuring a hidden secret artwork that unveils in the dark.

based in peckham, tokyo wax is a unified collection of creatives sharing an appreciation for a broad range of electronic music. having refined their tastes and gathered experience through promotion and radio shows their focus has since shifted to releasing records and in doing so, providing a platform for auspicious piers to bloom. in the wake of the success of that inaugural record from label owners presence and persona they ready their carefully crafted return with the second installment coming courtesy of 20 year-old mastermind circula backed up by endeguena mulu of ethiopian records on his first ever remix.

dutch producer frits wentink continues to flourish in the follow up to his debut lp rarely pure never simple that was released on wolf music back in march this year. throughout releases on heist and wolf, frits has consistently drawn for his arsenal of synths, effects and drum machines and through doing so has stitched a sound characterised by raw drums, analogue bass tones and odd, lo-fi samples.
