charlotte is a friend of deewee’s. she sings in both english & french. this e.p was written in collaboration between charlotte and bolis pupul then produced by the dewaele brothers (soulwax / 2manydjs) at deewee in ghent. cont… new release information a brief rundown on the tracks… ‘1.618’ arrives somewhere between a futurist song and a cosmic disco sound. it twists and turns. ‘senegal seduction’ is a slow melodic ride. ‘je m’appelle charlotte’. ‘le froid’ is a percussive vocal dub piece. charlotte’s vocals turned inside then out again. ‘celle’ is a song addressed to a father and a heartbeat to finish.

future sound of antwerp are the post-digital children of the citys techno scene, all forgotten mixtapes, and nighttime drives to ghent. these three tracks, all different, were all produced and mixed at deewee, at night, with a purpose.

the deewees say: we met bolis in 2006 via myspace, and then later in real life when we toured asia. to escape the unbearable boredom of his native macao, bolis had decided to try his hand at making electronic music - inspired by a jean-michel jarre concert - and we have stayed in touch all these years. this record is the result of bolis visit to deewee in gent where he was enchanted by the world of analogue synths. we should also mention that bolis had a previous life as south east asias number 2 rubiks cube champion in 2003. think logic system and telex. sleeve design by ill studio.

born to italian/moroccan parents, laila sakini was raised in the forest areas of outer melbourne, australia, later moving to the inner-city, and then to london. after years of involvement in dance music culture and djing, she turns inward, exploring club sounds via personal melodic-based electronic music. she also speaks fluent chinese. written between melbourne and london, polished at deewee, belgium. sleeve design by ill studio.

asa moto are two mysterious producers from belgium who have been honing their sound at deewee for a number of months, delivering with their first release two futuristic pieces for the slowed down dance floor.

phillipi and rodrigo have a fondness for synths and classic brazilian sound. side a is a playful acid sound created thats been thoroughly road tested on the despacio sound system. side b is a tight modern balearic beat for the slower dancefloor. sleeve design by ill studio.

the deewees say: five years ago we met emmanuelle in an office in milano. for years we asked her to play us some of the music shed been making on her laptop in her bedroom. when deewee was built we invited the rio born / miami raised / milano based artist to make some music together. this is the first of many things weve done so far

die verboten are a space rock band formed by david and stephen dewaele of soulwax, fergus fergadelic purcell and henry riton. this is the first album from die verboten, written and recorded in 2007, rediscovered and mixed in 2015. this lp consists of five tracks, dafalganger, white island, e40, nacht winkel and aquarius. it is the sound of classic german kosmiche, live drums, synths, percussion and a loose funk you only find in these kind of stretched fluid grooves. the album was produced by die verboten and recorded and mixed at deewee. artwork is by ill studio / fergadelic. die verbotens debut ep live in eivissa was released in 2009 via londons vinyl factory (now selling for over £100 on discogs) and was recorded poolside in ibiza.

essential- ist ein album, das ursprŸnglich fŸr pete tongs bbc radio 1 essential mix im mai 2017 im soulwax eigenen studio deewee in gent aufgenommen wurde und in weniger als zwei wochen entstand. seit der grŸndung von soulwax im jahr 1995 sind die dewaele brŸder stets neue und kreative wege gegangen. im vergangenen jahr haben sie nicht nur den soundtrack fŸr -cafŽ belgica- geschrieben und sŠmtliche auftretenden bands erfunden und produziert, sondern waren auch weltweit mit 2manydjs unterwegs. mit deewee betreiben sie ihr eigenes record label und studio, veršffentlichten als radio soulwax online diverse mixe, arbeiteten mit james murphy (lcd soundsystem) unter dem projektnamen despacio zusammen und hosteten auf beats 1 ihre eigene radiosendung 2x2 - nicht zu vergessen die innovativen remixe fŸr acts wie warpaint, tame impala, metronomy, arcade fire, daft punk, gossip, hot chip, mgmt und viele mehr.
