alex israel, chicagos own overlord of deranged deep house comes to creme with a rip-roaring four tracker in said style. lush pads meander over swampy basslines and drum patterns that wash over you like a sweet monsoon. hard to imagine it was conceived in the windy city, but we guess the allure of the unattainable is a potent one.

introducing club constructions, a new series of releases that will operate alongside night slugs main eps and white label series. a new home for our most direct productions, cc will run as a channel for raw and tracky material aimed straight for the dancefloor. the first cc volume comes from l-vis 1990. hot on the heals of his >neon dreams< lp, l-vis dives further into the house music whirlpool, drawing on classic dance mania and underground construction vibes (think robert armani building trax for 2012) to deliver 5 tape-saturated, strictly-analog slices of modern-day ghetto hard house. strictly for peak time use!

march sees the formidable hypercolour deliver its most surprising output yet, an ep from none other than groove armada. tom findlay and andy cato need little introduction as groove armada. chart smashes, huge live tours and being part of the worldwide electronic music history aside, the duo have never lost touch with their acid house roots and have continued to be devoted to record buying, djing and the much maligned promo trawl. tom and andy have been avid followers of the label it seemed, since its inception. it was through label head jamie, meeting the guys back in 2010 at space in ibiza, and then continued communication via hypercolour promos, that led to an out-of-the-blue email requesting an informal hook up in east london and, within just a few days, a release was scheduled. that release is the >no knock ep<, four tracks that range from 808 fuelled old school cuts to low slung, moog-bassd electronic funk. each sound is lovingly crafted but there is an analog rawness throughout and every track has the sort of tweaked, off-kilter and occasionally awkward vibe that hypercolour do so well. it just takes a bit of imagination to guess what a ga release on hypercolour should sound but failing that, just check the release out as it wont disappoint.

ross caiden is a new name on the scene already racking up some cracking releases. after giving us a remix of ryders >thirty five days< back in december, we now have an original ep from him.
>gunz in the hood< is a hat filled, heads down, groover. lewis ryder tweaks things with an indulgence of analogue synth work, keeping the peak time rawness.
>new york city gritty< sure does have the hustle & bustle of a large city. large room techno. with this, tom eales completely changes the sound, making a very warm & drifty mix.

leskin, massimo di lena, joseph russel and rio padice (aka the early sound collective) deliver four outstanding deep & raw house/techno cuts. of course, shitloads of records come out these days that fit the deep & raw house description, but this stuff just goes beyond. without falling back into cliche, their characteristic use of analog equipment takes you right back into the early days of hypnotic, raw & soulful machine music competing with the detroit/chicago cats from back in the day.

bristols elastic dreams present its third release, with label owner a sagittariun taking a back seat on this one and introducing sheffield based dj/producer, nyra, to the fold. hot off the heels of his ep for never learnt, nyra keeps on track with two new cuts of basement techno and deep, murky dancefloor tracks. the release is bolstered by a remix from skudge on lead track >uno 10<. skudge really need no introduction, but to the uninitiated, the swedish duo have been plying their simple, raw yet powerful sound since 2009 with releases and remixes for echocord, drumcode, fear of flying, rush hour and of course their own skudge imprint.

two american heroes team up to deliver the straight prison-funk, and they ve got the tattoos to prove it. somebody call the department of homeland security. its no secret that kris wadsworth and butane have both done hard time. in this case, a simple mutual respect lead to the decision that this record must be made. and so here it is. three tracks of uncompromising raw attitude. nothing premeditated here. just honest,warehouse-style jack-mode techno, done by two of the midwests finest. some djs over-sell themselves with contrived media stunts, fancy pr schemes, and little substance. youll find none of that here. we are just a couple of convicts who rip raw techno tracks. we speak through our music.

>minor details< is another top production from up and coming uk producer jordan peak. with releases on quality labels like tsuba, robsoul, one records or area remote, this new release is another solid offering from the talented youngster. the original version of >three one two< is a percussive yet deep club track, whilst the julien sandre remix adds more pump with its rugged acid bassline. >got soul< is stripped down and raw, a trademark of jordan s work and thats what we like. nick lawsons remix takes the track in a smoother direction and completes this well balanced ep.

disco mali! sofrito present a unique slice of afro-disco from the celebrated griot, niama makalou, recorded in the late 70s.
descended from a family of griots (traditional malian praise singers), niama makalou moved to france in the mid 70s where she cut this, her one and only vinyl release. at the time paris (like much the rest of the world) was swept up in disco fever, so along with a group of malian musicians the date was set to cut a piece of disco, griot style. the resulting mixture of off kilter hand claps, raw string arrangements, balafon flourishes and bambara vocals combine with a heavy disco groove to produce a one-off piece of cross-cultural dancefloor mayhem.
on the flip daphni (aka caribou) crafts an extended version that distills it into a stripped down and dubbed out groove.

white hills newest and most energized recording to date is bursting with raw energy packed into their most concise songs to date. fear not long time white hills fans, there is still loads of killer guitar work and fuzzed out psychedelia on frying on this rock.

last year’s ‘the age of compassion’ by chicago underground house don tevo howard was one of the standout tracks for buzzin’ fly in 2011with widespread dj and media support. it joined his burgeoning body of work on other acclaimed labels such as rush hour and his own beautiful granville. now tevo returns with his follow-up for buzzin’ fly. if ‘the age of compassion’ was a simple and elegant dancefloor bump wrapped in warm analogue melancholia, then the ‘monument ep’ is its nemesis - a stark future-retro reinterpretation of the origins of house music build from the bare components of machines: raw drums, sub bass, sine waves, square waves and oscillators. and yet there is still a burnished beauty to this ep. all three tracks seems to find echoes of each other in their arrangements and brittle harmony. machine music for the modern age edged with passion and feeling, and another fresh step for its producer.

after a break from releasing new material while he concentrated on developing the freerotation electronic music festival, mindtours label boss steevio is back with a 4 track ep of live improvised modular music. modular techno vol 1 is four tracks of raw, deep, jazz tinged, freeform, analogue minimal electronics, all sequencing and sound manipulation was jammed live on steevios modular synthesizer, without the use of a computer, or eq / compression / mastering or any other processing in a deliberate attempt to capture a live electronic music performance directly to vinyl.

great 12 inch featuring two superb rarities from renowned disco label sound of new york. run by legendary producer peter brown, this small harlem-based imprint garnered a massive reputation in the late 70s and early 80s turning out some of the best disco tracks ever made. first up here is ny disco funk favourite >dance freak< from chain reaction. produced by peter brown himself, this is pure dancefloor dynamite, as raw and funky as it gets with pumping horns, grinding bass, wild percussion and crazy synths building steadily to a high-octane blistering dancefloor freakout! on the flip is the equally fantastic >shout at the disco< from little scotty, another relentless rough grooving jam, also produced by the prolific mr b. with both these tracks super-expensive and extremely hard to find in the original, don t miss this chance to get your copy!

the dirty dutch! anticlub a notorious collective from eindhoven, the southern capital of holland, was inspired to push itself into a new direction. the inspiration came from a painting by an old lady that drew the attention and gave the impulse to create the album freaks and followers. as the title suggests there are two kinds of people, people who take risks and people who do not. as anticlub used to be a risk-taker but slowly settled in an unwanted comfort zone, this created dissatisfaction and led to a creative standstill. seeing the painting everything became clear again. one should not stand still but keep moving and evolve oneself into new areas that one has not yet explored creatively. as lessismore is from the same dutch city, this state of mind also hit the lessismore label, which inevitable resulted in both parties joining forces to release this diverse album by a former underground techno crew called anticlub. as the lessismore label is known for its typically styled techno, lessismore was searching for a new impulse sound wise and visually, to ensure creative satisfaction in the years to come. with this album everything came together and the lessismore crew reunited to renew their input into the label, which was once founded to be a creative platform and an artistic journey and in retrospective clearly not a platform where one should repeat itself time after time. freaks and followers is an 8 track album with raw electronic based music combined with a variety of vocal work by different new anticlub members. the overall feel of the album is a dark punky attitude that reminds of the good old days of rave, which in the early nineties dominated the dutch club and party scene. this period can be defined as being careless and not taking credibility into account, trying new things, being blunt and just partying your hart out. being older this is a feeling that will never have to die, proved by the old lady whose painting was used as the art-work of the album release.

release #6 on basic fingers comes from a true stockholm crate diggin legend and notorious producer kool dj dust. mr dust truly knows his history and is also highly skilled dj that has rocked most clubs in and around scandinavia. for his debut on basic fingers dust goes loose on a french disco anthem (editsa alexandra), a raw gospel jam (take it to jesus) and finally a ruff percussion workout (dancing suite). its an ep with something for all you that got ears firmly directed towards the (under)ground! proper bizniz!

hissy fit is the brainchild of the moustache mamas, part berlin, part london composed of a us east-coast sensibility and a uk north east sense of humour. its a vehicle to be able to work with the artists and release the music they love, to give something physical (yes all releases will be pressed on vinyl) to the people that spend all that time dancing when the girls are djing. the mamas have then built up a reputation of being grade-a party starters across europe, playing at the rawest of parties, and outshining some of the boys in the boys club. their approach to djing is mirrored in their approach to starting hissy fit, the girls are serious about their music even if the music itself doesnt need to be serious. for its first release hissy fit welcomes aboard leeds based >death on the balcony<. this year they have been cosying up to the likes of soul clap and the wolf and lamb posse, as well as being booked to play all over the damn place causing hissy fits of epic (yet joyous) proportions. the ep contains three originals, and kicks off with >every time< a synth-laced house jammer that brings in the clap & the punch with just the right oomph for the kids on the floor.
