larry levans name is synonymous with contemporary dance music culture, his contributions are widely noted in many books and documentaries and in the memories of the lucky people who got to experience his phenomenal dj sets at the now legendary paradise garage in nyc throughout the late 70s until the late 80 s. his name is still mentioned with reverence today and he is listed as an influence by countless djs and artists across the world.

producer and boss of mathematics records, jamal moss a.k.a hieroglyphic being is a one-off musical explorer. jamals music takes cues from the ebm and house that played a huge part in the city s musical underground in the late eighties and early nineties, notably ron hardy and adonis, but also industrial, avant-jazz and noise. his tireless schedule of rough low-key releases over the last 12 years and his intense, very physical, psychedelic music, have made him a key exponent or maybe even a pioneer of what has recently come to be named outsider house, although he prefers the more sun-ra like descriptors of rhythmic cubism and cosmic be-bop.

following up their releases on composite records and indigo raw, parham shafti & dominic plaza, aka the quantum mechanics, are back with their second installment on the relaunched unfokused music. here the duos mission to explain the unexplainable continues with two new outstanding cuts, release room and mind tricks. on the remix side, the mighty sasse and his partner in late night crime, the notorious james flavour (also known as one half of dirt crew) join in to show us their tricks. with their combined experience the two elegantly take on where the original leaves you and aim straight for a heart trick that resembles us of moody dancefloor moments from early 90s, modified to take place in a near future.
