indira paganotto returns with her third pooledmusic ep, featuring a pair of remixes from label boss ian pooley. having made her debut in 2012 aged just 19, indira has spent the intervening years honing her sound and exploring new approaches to music. currently based in madrid, paganotto s father was a dj in goa, where she spent a significant portion of her upbringing. having grown up with her father s collection of trance, acid & psychedelic rock records, paganotto s eclectic musical education has informed her music s individuality. her 2014 solo ep time out man blended these inspirations into a pair of evocative house grooves. this development continues with kashmir & savannah, both of which find the 24-year-old producer in confident form. ian pooley provides a pair of his own trademark dancefloor-focused dubs to complete a package that confirms paganotto as a new talent in the ascendancy.

next up on aus music is the return of label boss will saul working alongside long term label favourite komon. together the duo line up harmonise - a smouldering single that comes backed up with an almighty pair of remixes from osgut ton mainstay nick höppner and analogue aficionados juju & jordash. the title track kicks things off with glowing, interweaved synths and a pattering tom line. vocal snippets and trippy delays suffuse a purposeful bass tone before the 101 dub version rolls out with punchy drums and a sharp, darting acid line. berghain regular nick höppner then does what he does best with his remix in building a rich, hypnotic groove that steadily develops with intricacy and depth. dekmantel and golf channel regulars juju & jordash then drive a warped, rumbling synth line through spacey atmospherics rounding off another fine addition to the catalogue.

the ultimate edition of the roots reggae masterpiece release 1977-2017! the album classic was originally issued in 1977 in jamaica only and 20 years later in 1997 released by the blood & fire label as the outstanding but now deleted heart of the congos. vp records sub-label 17 north parade has released now the definitive 2017 re-mastered 3lp deluxe edition put together with both respect and gratitude to that illustrious antecedent (also available as 3cd-set incl. the ultrarare original lp mix). this new 3lp-vinyl-set is based on the more well-known mix and master from the blood & fire re-release, plus dubs, disco mixes, seven and twelve inch versions and has with -don’t blame it on i- an overlooked previously unreleased track unearthed. the 3lp-vinyl was state-of the-art re-mastered again by kevin metcalfe and comes in a 6mm spine jacket sleeve with full colour printed illustrated inner sleeves and the liner notes by noel hawks. stickered with the quote: the best roots reggae album ever...(lloyd bradley)

following the big success of the tmng001 catalogue, label-head yaya strikes back on his own label with another wicked release. his second ep called ‘unconditional love’ also features the first tamango remixer ever and we’re more than proud to have ‘panorama bar’ lady cassy on board. the ep kicks off the things with entitled ‘unconditional love’ which features yaya’s typical trademark groove with some extra great tribal-drums contaminations combined with a great caribbean-oriented female chant, giving life to a proper dancefloor burner. a2 is about cassy. she has been into the music industry since 2003 when she moved to berlin and she’s fresh of her latest album ‘donna’ on ‘aus music’ last year. she provides a beautiful and heavier interpretation of ‘unconditional love’, adding crisp percussions and pure analogic spatial pad, creating a dreamlike dimension surrounded by the massif utilization of pitched endless vocals. the b-side contains the dub version of ‘unconditional love’ for the ones who need a precise and outspoken tool without the vocal part. closing the ep is ‘lone wolf’ which is the prove to dispel any doubt on yaya’s producing skills: the track immediately approaches into softer sonority with nimble analogic and syncopated synths and rapid drums, with hi-hats and shakers only, for another tamango unmissable chapter.

sascha ciminiera is a familiar face from footjob, member of the labels own supergroup pallaspeople and also famous for his tasty bolognese sauce. with lights he created a dreamy balearic tune that found its way into gerd janson’s groove podcast. as a consequence, janson and his partner in crime phillip lauer aka tuff city kids played around with the 808 and turned it to a great dancefloor version. phonk d completed the jubilee release with a classic house rework and on top, the tuff city kids remix is added as a dub version. footjob german record label launched in 2014. run by phonk d - focussing on house music made for dancing

the foundation of this dub album was created by some of the finest sessions musicians ever to grace the studios of 1960s & 70s jamaica. their instruments were the cornerstone to countless dub lps that began to surface in the early 70s and continued on into the 80s creating a whole new genre of music. as they did back in the early days of dub, the kingston all stars gathered together in kingston, jamaica at mixing lab studios and laid down a series of riddims that would lay the groundwork for what comes next: the singers. both greenwich farm rasta, prince alla, and falsetto, cedric myton of the the congos, contribute vocals to the album but half of the riddims on this lp are, to date, unreleased, and have yet to be voiced. in essence, this album is a sneak peak into upcoming releases. the style of riddims that were created during these sessions range from the cumbia influenced reyes dub to the ethiopian jazz flavored kebra dub that pays tribute to the african sound system, kebra ethiopia sound and shows the wide variety of influences that fuel these musicians. tracks like dub ova combine ansel collins keyboard work with hux browns infectious grooves to create a funky rhythm that you have not heard the last of.

dj glc makes his debut with his first solo ep, inspired by 90 s deep house roots. gianluca, a dj & producer since 10 years in the business, offers a complete ep touching every kind of nuance of house music. “feel the rhythm” original mix is a dreamy concept, pads filtered take you into a trip, simoncino remix is a dance floor killer with straights pattern and magic atmosphere. “paradise house” is inspired by infamous italian deep house of the 90’s , vintage sounds selected and hardware used to make it. “move on!” is different view not in 4/4 but break patterns, samples and deep bass line. a complete view of actual house landscapes.

for the labels ninth release, deep a & biris black crow records revisits one that helped establish the labels direction back in the imprints first year. bcr003, insular realms by fellow israeli producer hakimonu, was praised by many including resident advisor, who said the ep proved his off-kilter take on techno and house is as vibrant and inviting as ever. now in 2017, deepa & biri have invited mind against, luigi tozzi and echologist (aka dub techno veteran brendon moeller) to all rework the original version of insular realms for 2017. first up are life & death’s mind against, with one of the fognini brothers most direct techno productions yet, with a mid-track moment of calm before the intensity resumes. luigi tozzi, the rome-based producer who has had previous outings on dynamic reflection and dino sabatinis outis music, contributes the second remix. taking the lead from the originals more ethereal moments, his version is dreamy & almost wistful as it propels along its shaking rhythm. the b-side offers two takes from brendon moeller in his echologist guise, with a dub mix that twists the original into an acid-inflected track that slowly ratchets up the tension over its seven minutes, while the reshape breaks things down into a churning rhythm peppered with flashes f off kilter sonic details.

the latest outing on will & ink is a remix ep that finds parisian producers bambounou and simo cell team up for four reworked versions of yaleesa halls woodall lp. both artists are known for their releases on 50 weapons, livity sound and wisdom teeth. right here, on will & ink, two solo outings with another two collaborated remixes on the b-side showcase their dubbed out, stripped back and paranoid dark parisian trademark sound. their very specific sound sounds like little else and is a solid match with yaleesa hall and the amsterdam imprint as this ep proves.

untamed love is an ufo in peter hunnigale’s career, recorded at omega studio (london) and originally released on the cosmic label in 1986. some people have no words to describe it. you can call it brit boogie, rare funk, sick jam, musical bomb, or god jam, whatever it’s typical mid 80 s tune with a rythmic backgound sound that is captivating and memorable, thanks to heavyweight synth and awesome vocal. the original 12’’ vinyl record is still very hard to find and expensive nowadays. if you are about to discover this song, make sure you are sit down when you listen to it because this song will blow you down « hey girl i like the way you smile ».

claremont 56 has always had close links with japan’s vibrant music scene, with founder paul ‘mudd’ murphy making annual trips for djing and live performances. it’s perhaps unsurprising, then, that the label’s latest limited-edition vinyl release comes from japanese outfit okinawa delays, a project founded by producer, dj and long-time friend of the label takeo.
some of you may already be familiar with okinawa delays thanks to 2016’s hana, a cover of a popular 1995 j-pop hit featuring original vocalist satoko ishimine. the singer is a well-known performer in her native japan, having released a number of acclaimed records on toshiba emi throughout the 1990s.

house music with love turn once again to swedish duo swim for a record soaked in a particularly soothing bath of balearic goodness. original track -be there- is certainly laced with an air of scandinavian cool, not least thanks to erika rosen s dreamy vocals, but there s a solid boogie undercarriage carrying the music along. halllo halo step up with a remix that makes a playful, intricate broken beat refrain out of the backing track while maintaining the vocals. ghost immanuel meanwhile whips up a spacious dub that stays close to the original, albeit in instrumental form.
