limited repress due to high demand on requests. eating records was born in the brussels underground scene, inspired by the idea of synthesizing two different horizons to get a beautiful concept. in the beginning it was simply the need to go back to roots and try to connect with the present and future, but eventually it ended up with a modern groovy label. the first release of the label was not that easy to find. the eclectic worlds of the two members did not really help them. but that was until they found jr from dallas - a talented dj producer from lille, owner of gourmand music recording - maybe food is the key... who knows ? jr has always been a forward-moving artist, but his music cannot - and should not - be mapped linearly. after releasing on labels as farris wheel recordings and greenhouse recordings, he had nowhere to go but backward for his new ep on eating records to its 90 old school beats and hypnotizing basses. phonical deep is gorgeous and evocative all the same. technival is stylish enough, and it is as restlessly creative as you would expect. it is followed by the hypnotic and beautiful remix of jay bliss of phonical deep - the eps final track. the fact is, jay bliss has managed to create something so refreshingly unique that trying to categorize and label his remix is rather dubious. he transformed the original melodic part to a blissful pad embellished with a repetitive rhythm spiced with tiny subtle details. it is easier to see this remix as the backbone of electronic music - simple and repetitive but never boring.

waxwork records is thrilled to announce the vinyl debut of shock waves. the 1977 film stars horror movie legend peter cushing and is directed by ken wiederhorn (return of the living dead 2). the 100% analog synth score composed by richard einhorn (the prowler, dont go in the house) marks one of the earliest electronic compositions created for film. waxwork is proud to finally release this landmark electronic horror score in vinyl format 40 years after the films initial public release.

berlin-based duo snacks drop an infectious four tracker on house of disco this october. forming snacks in 2014, new zealand s rene corbett and germany s aljoscha babel have been joining the dots between funk-fuelled disco and sultry house with releases landing on pusic records, boogie angst, hafendisko and mule musiq. as djs they ve been transforming dancefloors into all out bedlam with their upbeat and eclectic performances, whilst their party-focused productions have found a home in the record crates of ben ufo, dam swindle, prosumer and beats in space s tim sweeney.

four never before released or publicly available demo cuts from the writing sessions of craig peyton and jolyon skinner circa 1983-1985. the duo produced and wrote hits for artists in between working on their own projects. these songs survived the past 30 years on a cassette tape, which was lovingly transferred for this exclusive to peyton records release. after their short but fruitful collaborative period, peyton went on as a writer and band leader and skinner went on to have a career as a songwriter for pop acts such as joe, nsync, and freddie jackson. in the words of craig peyton: “jolyon skinner and i met in the early ’80s through our mutual friend keith diamond (the trinidadian producer of hits such as “caribbean queen” by billy ocean). after we met, jolyon and i started regular writing sessions at my nyc p-factor studio. our first break came in 1983 with howard johnson’s “let this dream be real-. that was followed up with “love of a lifetime” by melba moore and “where ya gonna be tonight” for will collins. after this we were offered a recording deal by april blackwood music, but due to my contract with profile records at the time we couldn’t accept it. shortly after skinner got signed to zomba and we stopped writing together around 1985.

xerophkz is back with a second ep on the self titled label. the second release furthers his journey into uncompromising, expressive electronic music, and there is a lot to choose from on this record. from lush ambient electronica and emotive synth driven soundscapes, to frantic almost rave influenced techno and abrasive textural show stoppers this release represents a fresh and unique counterpoint to the popular structures and formats of modern techno. with only two releases to date this artist is already one to watch.
