you can always trust ludovic llorca. once a year he locks himself in his studio and works the magic which results in a local talk release. his previous releases on local talk, the same thing (classic proto housemeets-baggy us garage vibe) the rainbow song (it sounds like an underground summer anthem in waiting) are lt classics and now, ludo returns with a third release, i just can t ep. while some producers struggle with new ideas, trying to re-invent the genre, ludo sticks to what he knows best. strings and chords combined with a thick and squelchy bass is the foundation of the title track while on the flip, dirty stories, is as hypnotic as it is jackin, in fact, both tracks are so irresistible you d start wondering if ludo stole them from a snake charmer.

local talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, greg dowling, shane johnson aka fish go deep. these two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. both greg & shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in cork city between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned sweat night at sir henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as kerri chandler, laurent garnier, dj deep, glenn underground, derrick may just to name a few. it s a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on local talk. first track, off script, takes us straight back to the days of prescription. the driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish. on the flip, northern reach, follows on the same theme. it hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo s skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. you wouldn t be surprised to hear dixon drop this in a dj set.

if you ve followed local talk thru the years you ve most likely noticed how we like to throw a few curve-balls every now and then. for our 65th release we ve got gomma boss mathias modica aka munk and ndatl head honcho kai alce sharing the black gold. two producers with their own unique style presenting something special. while munk s original version of hot medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by mr alce is deep, soulful and musically rich house. two very different takes on one track, take your pick. on the flip munk delivers purple dust. this time he s upped the tempo a few bpm s, accompanied by a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords. mr alce ends the 12- with a dub of hot medusa which is brilliant from start to finish. another highly recommended and essential release.

hnny is mostly known (so far) for his amazing house take on mariah careys >i want to know what love is< which was released on fellow stockholm label studio barnhus last year. for his debut on local talk he has pulled together three house gems that showcase a remarkable diversity in production quality. repressed

ever since the debut, communication ep which also marked our 50th release, alexander lay-far has a special place in the local talk family.

we had no choice but to bring back our friend kiko navarro after the success of the new life ep released on local talk earlier this year. isao is kiko at his finest, a beautiful and hypnotic house track that has the perfect blend of afro and latin elements with a bouncy electronic edge. theres also a mighty fine remix coming from jose marquez. jose develops the vocal elements and brings in a whole orchestra of drums taking the track in a sweatier direction. kiko also delivers a koki dub where he continues on the same vibe and adds strings complimented by shakers and percussions throughout the track.

adesse versions started out as a re-edit series, with humble ambitions of releasing a couple of white labels, nothing more, nothing less. it kept growing with both original productions and remixes appearing. it didn t take long until tracks such as pressured, modal and justified appeared on charts and the records found their way to such esteemed people as derrick may, larry heard, gilles peterson and of course mad mats & tooli. since then it s been an ongoing theme with kevin gormans music, yes that s his real name. always well received and played by many.

atjazz on local talk! pretty good combo right? well, just wait until you hear fox tooth and we re quite sure you ll agree with us that this is something above normal rank. martin iveson aka atjazz gave us a release that will work just as well on big sound systems as well as in those dark house basements. the original version is an electronic house jam that s equipped with all necessary tools in order to peak in the main room but without all the played out tech-house schemes. it s uplifting yet dark and carves a very personal groove - yum ! oh, don t miss the killer break down...big! the second version comes in the form of his inspired atjazz galaxy aart dub and this to be fair is more of a remix than a dub. here we step straight down to the darkness for a warming deep house cut that sounds like something from the prescription archives but still retaining the trademark atjazz sound. this is simply, sophisticated house music for those who like things real.

no stranger to the house scene, kiko navarro is a dj and producer whose productions, remixes and edits have appeared on an impressive list of labels for many years.

new year, new release and a new local talk member to introduce to you all - lets all welcome merrick. this young wiz kid steps up to the plate with a three track sweaty and headstrong release for our local talk off shoot ltx. developed deep inside his sound lab somewhere in europe, using dark grooves and dusty chords as the foundation - this release leaves you in no doubt where his current position is - in the club. from the opening track do that with its chunky grooves and warm basslines via the scene, a basement deep house track that ll satisfy all the moodymann fans out there. the last track, devils dance, keeps us hypnotically locked from start to finish with its rich and warm chords, have a listen - youll understand why.

it has been local talk bosses mad mats & toolis secret weapon during their dj sets over the past months and have destroyed clubs from london to berlin. with a super catchy chord theme, bumpy 4/4 beats and a slight uk feel this is as bad as it gets. it is just one of those tunes you immediately recognise and can relate with. together with a deep journey house remix from ad bourke and a fierce uk inspired bass/house mix from colognes hade we dare to say that this is one the finest releases on local talk so far. original bristol cat crackazat (now residing in uppsala, sweden) got a sound that fuses jazz theories, electronic 4/4s with a deep uk underground mentality. think underground resistance meets floating points and your almost there. somewhere else is the second single from crackazat on local talk and in early 2015 he will drop his debut album crescendo on local talk.

we are very honoured to welcome the cologne-based producers hade + gutta to the local talk family. their debut release marks a further development of the local talk sound, balancing between house & bass. the ep kicks off with *nothing wrong*, a track built around a bouncy bass riff that lingers and weaves around a clever vocal splicing. *in me* continues where *nothing wrong* left off but adds more depth and ingenious stabs, it is a 100% bouncing track for sure. ending the ep is hades solo number *baphome*. a bass fuelled floor packer with nicely interwoven synths and a hypnotic house groove that remains present throughout the track. in conclusion - a garage-esqe belter with the right amount of wobbly bass to satisfy all your dj & dance floor needs.

javier & luis garayalde aka kyodai are back on local talk with their third release since the debut *breaking* back in 2012. as always we are thrilled to present new tracks from the duo whose been integral in establishing local talk. the pace is set with the first track *konbanwa*, showcasing the duos phenomenal skills in creating something both classic and modern by fusing a tight and driving groove, tension building chords and a bumpy bass hook to great effect. believe us when we say it has been an absolute highlight in our dj-sets thru out the summer. on *so special* the brothers go back to their roots and create a track that has got both the sound and feel of their previous tracks *breaking* and *the scene* - in other words, another big track from kyodai!

dj goethe big classic here, at least realesed on vinyl. a superb 140 bpm acid techno tune with everything needed in a good tune. on the b-side stands a very ptit gris, playable any speed and totally minimal and easy. a superb dj tool bringing a fat kick like never before and thats the point.

we are celebrating 50 release on local talk and what better way to do it than welcome alexander lay-far, the moscow-based dj and producer to the family.

mr saag is back for his third release on local talk, *in the box* and this time he went all in. this 12 provides a meaty affair with firm drums, well-treated vocal snippets, organ hooks and the works. the opening track *in the box* uses strong synth stabs to full effect and the marriage of percussive and crunchy rhythms in this track is saag at his best. it is so good we decided to include a drum track of it too! *suddenly i woke up* is basement house with organ hook, afro percussive rhythms and a bassline from the deep depths of detroit.

its time for local talk to go local again with another swedish producer, eric ericsson. with numerous releases out in labels like planet e, fragile and freerange he is one of those producers with one foot in the techno scene and another in the more soulful house scene. basically, he is not a one trick pony! for his release on local talk we would say he lands somewhere between classic chi-town house and thumping nyc house groove but without sounding too retro or washed out. its simply real house music!

without a doubt, manfredi romano (aka dj tennis) is a busy man. co-founder and partner of life and death, a dj with a full schedule and someone who still always has his fingers (and mind) in multiple projects and multiple places at the same time. how he juggles it (or when he sleeps) are questions best not pondered. one thing those who know him well have surely noticed is that he does it all while constantly on the move. unfazed by the constant whirl of cities that pass him by, he somehow manages to remain focused throughout. no matter where he goes, he somehow always manages to remain local.

sometimes it is best to let the music do the talking, this is one of those occasions. local talks 46th release comes from exciting debutant sameed. little did we know about sameed before we got the four tracks for this 12 inch, for all we know it could be your neighbour. quick-firing the release is spend, functional as a set highlight with its dubby chords, vocal snippets and a wonky bassline. included on the b-side is a dub that will work perfect as a dj tool for those who want to go a little bit deeper. showcasing sameeds sense for keeping things stripped down and sweaty, still is a dirty exercise in acid witchcraft while getyoself can best be described as a delicately raw rhythm with dark textures.

after a decade of club singles spanning bassline house, garage, grime and more, dj q releases his debut album. although he has been releasing club tracks since the start of the 00s, dj q had his breakthrough moment in 2008 with *u wot*, one of the biggest tracks to come out of the uks bassline house / niche explosion. the years since have seen him hold down residencies on bbc radio 1xtra and ministry of sound radio, while releasing on butterz, unknown to the unknown and local action.

when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.

the second release in 2014 is yet another debut on local talk, the german trio tim vita, oliver gehrmann, xaver hirsh serve up their take on house music, jazzy and deep , warm & organic-sounding tracks. from the energetic yet jazzy opening track jazzclub to the to the forward pushing street sounds, they’ll have you smiling and vibing in no time. the flip, blessed munchkin, cleverly drawing things to a close and showcasing their jazz influences. simply put, their trinity ep is inspirational house music down to its soul. local talk is talking to you!

bristol native and musical wiz benjamin jacobs aka crackazat dazzled us since the first time we heard him a few years ago on futureboogie with his deep and jazzy electronic house not house sound. after a move to sweden and refining his characteristic music profile you will now find hints of floating points, faltydl, lone or underground resistance in his productions. its dance + music at its best and something truly special if you ask us! after a killer track (size up) on local talks off shoot label oneoffs and a bumpin piano remix for tony blitz our man crackazat is now here with his first solo release on local talk ... the candle coast ep. all three tracks are winners by themselves and its seriously tricky to single out any of them so its just up to you to choose your favourite cut. it wont be easy we tell you!

anaxander make a welcome return to local talk following the mighty local talking ep released earlier this year which got support from heavy weights like rolando, ben sims, recloose, ben westbeech and many more. on this release he drops the bpms and let the machines do the talking. both candy stand and my aniseed lollipop are perfect examples of how to lay down an acid track sparse but bold percussion frameworks to contain that all important, tension laced 303 work - perfect for ballrooms and basements alike!

every label needs a strong summer release and we are pretty sure we found ours for this summer. from the very first second we heard this demo from stockholm based producer claes rosen (1/2 of dubstep duo l-wiz) we knew this would be one of our fave releases on local talk. seriously, its a real beauty! with a slight r&b touch, melodic chords and thumping house rhythms both tracks have that perfect contrast of soulful deepness and an uplifting feel. on the a-side daydreaming is a club friendly track with a bumpy house rhythm and smart r&b samples…the perfect summer tune! the b-side with wonderful is exactly what is says it is…wonderful! it is deep soulful house at its very best and music that puts a smile on your face every time your hear it. all in all its a fantastic package of exquisite house music ... enjoy the summer folks :)

lil jabba isnt like the rest of them. while they are busy joining the dots between house and techno or whatever is safe right now, he is throwing paint all over the page. he is not american, but he is affiliated with chicagos teklife crew (dj spinn, dj rashad, etc.) and divides his time between baltimore and brooklyn, exhibiting his visual art, riding around with his bike gang and making some of the most hypnotic juke and footwork you will ever hear. local action have been figuring out a release with him for over a year - eventually an ep wasnt enough, and they persuaded him to make it a full-length album, scales. some of scales has already seen the light of day through youtube or limited cassette releases, some of it is unheard. some tracks sound cleaner than others, that is because they are newer. that is how these things work. what is consistent throughout scales is the quality: across 12 tracks, jabba flips, twists and inverts the footwork template with endless layers of samples, gurgled vocal tags, jazz licks and whatever else he feels like. these arent trax, they are tapestries.

here we present good vibrations, the debut ep on local talk from canadian producer orazio fantini. the best thing with this ep is that it is simply straight up house music that is both deep yet raw and funky all at the same time. basically, its very local talk ,) first track, to the ball, starts off with a bubbling bass line, followed with shuffling hi-hats and swinging beat that is glued together by glistering synth stabs, infectious to say the least. turn the record over for feel it, which showcases fantinis clever use of vocal samples blended together with the perfect swing and last not but not least, on hold is a stripped track but with all the necessary elements to make the feet move.

with local talk release no. 30 we are moving further into territories of straight up no fuss dance floor action. already having releases on dirt crew recordings, murmur & hypercolour elef knows a thing or two about delivering jacking tracks. wake up call comes in two versions. the original version is a kick & snare pattern driven monster track with heavy arpeggios and deep pads. on the flip brennan green doesnt hold back either. the main melodic pattern together with percussions is unleashed straight on and as the tracks evolves he adds tr-303 lines making the track even more epic. as elef described the remix as perfect for a panorama bar set. the remix is worthy enough based on that one side alone.

a club-focussed amalgamation of swung techno, garage and more, with nods to the uks oft-forgotten bassline house scene. its the strongest statement yet from one of dance musics best prospects. first pressing comes on white marbled vinyl 12, with individually spray-painted white sleeves.

the atmospheric deep house builder brothers & sisters comes in two different versions and is everything we could wish for, deep, punchy and masterfully produced house music, sounding right at home on local talk. the pm atlantic version will do the work for the early sets and am pacific is the perfect end of the nighter. finishing off is legacy, a track where groove and dedication is the keywords, a guaranteed weapon in any djs bag in the coming months. all in all, three tracks of the kind of nuanced deep house weve come to expect from the brilliant fred everything
