h-productions proudly presents >eye sight< by cari lekebusch. this is the fifth release in the full color spectrum serie, that is aiming to result in 9 different colored vinyl 12inches. both tracks are maintaining a stripped down policy, solid sound pictures and simple arrangements - with no unnecessary elements, breaks or changes. thus giving the dj more freedom to play around during the blending. and the sound pictures have intentionally been tuned while having the various h-productions releases in mind, that came out around 1993-1997.

a journey through a twin world powered by life experiences. moments soundtracked by inevitable encounters and occurrences. psychedelia and ambient collide over ten tracks to create a rich and lucid colour palette of sounds, all fused together by a deep rooted love of glitch and electronica, that somehow stops the listener from venturing too far into the unknown.

pedro abrantes and valdemar pereira’s intense and cold approach in the next release of e.f.a.e. would fit perfectly as the soundtrack to david cronenberg’s film crash (1997), guiding the listener through a world of perversion and obsession. a raw experience, usually of violence, where human nature is expressed through old rhythm boxes and cheap guitar pedals, sounding dirty, fuzzy, with an healthy disregard for rules of fidelity or even functionality. gam / coletivo vandalismo emerges like a sonic terrorist cell, out to implode traditional notions of dance music infusing a sense of dread and menace.

the best records have a story, they form part of a journey, different characters emerge and the good music always rises to the fore. in the case of the latest record from scottish producer jack eye jones and the legendary junior sanchez this is certainly true. cocaine blues is a step into the unknown in some respects but in another way, it s a record that seems to fit in perfectly with todays electronic music landscape.

reissue of an eye for an eye by byrne & barnes: a true westcoast/aor masterpiece, produced in legendary music city muscle shoals (alabama) and originally only released on japanese label climax. in 1981, robert byrne followed up to his 1979 album, blame it on the night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist brendan barnes to record this rare westcoast classic. if they never recorded any other music together, both display incredible music career and went on to produce for many famous artists such as pointer sisters, patti austin, earth wind & fire, phil collins, brian mcknight, or boyz ii men to name just a few.

the crate-digging credentials of psychemagik’s danny mclewin are well established. even so, he’s excelled himself with the first release on spacetalk, a joint venture with leng records’ simon purnell and paul murphy.
the trio have successfully worked together a lot over the last five years, with purnell and murphy releasing a string of superb collections, compiled by mclewin and psychemagik partner tom coveney. all three men were keen to continue this partnership, and have founded spacetalk to re-release long forgotten, little-known or overlooked music, as well as previously unheard archive material from some of the artists involved.
the label’s first release is as obscure as they come. morrison kincannon’s to see one eagle fly is stupidly rare, having initially been released by its’ creators as a private press record during the early 1970s.

we finished 2015 with a six-track jumbo ep from borrowed identity and thought we d repeat the same trick for 2016, though this time with originals from okayama-based producer keita sano. eye begins with keep an eye out, pt.2, a propulsive song that sounds like a lost contender for the knight rider theme. own signal keeps things dark, but with a spartan bleakness. the side finishes with smoker, another manic cut that ll give you chills. the flip finds keita exploring brighter sounds without losing that industrial, jagged edge. trmk is essentially a beat track that ll ignite any dance floor and fix is a herky-jerky ditty that ll get you stomping around the club like a possessed reveler. the 12inches cherry on top is think twice, a funky ass-shaker that centers around a crackly sample of crowd noise, a chopped-up disco vocal, and bouncy bass. a fiery finale for this hedonistic party.

new release on eye teeth by israel vines featuring the hybrid techno bass electro anthem “gatekeepers”, the dark techno gem “unscathed” and the ambient “repose in dub”. we started this sublabel as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where it often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). this is techno from detroit and america, not detroit techno. we would like to see american techno evolve, and this new imprint is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena. this ep was pre-mastered by neel at enisslab studio in rome. the vinyl was mastered by carl at trutone and pressed at archer records in detroit.

produced somewhere between a basement in brussels and an attic in the outskirts of paris, back when tape reel to reels, primitive rhythm boxes and analogue synths still carried a vague promise of the future, this music translated a certain atomic paranoia fuelled by the cold war industry. lo-fi music, abrasive, high pressure, dense, clipped to the max, like it was intended to punish any woofer that gets between it and the air.
