permanent vacation are delighted to bring you the second chapter of the first space oddities saga compiled by alexis le-tan (music journalist and member of the tigersushi bass system) and jess (formerly of the famed french house duo jess & crabbe and now drummer for punk band 10lec6). the pair met in 2001 through a mutual love of no-wave and leftfield disco. in 2003 jess came upon a big collection of library music, which he bought for next to nothing. whilst he was ciphering through it and finding the most interesting extracts, alexis was digging in all things cosmic, where along the way he also started to pick up many bits and pieces of obscure mood musics. in 2007, they put together some of their best space disco treasures giving birth to the highly acclaimed space oddities project released last july. as the first episode of space oddities was reaching to an end and following the amazing feedback they received, the parisian duo started working on the next volume in the heat of 2008’s sunny days. a new direction was chosen: more organic, guitar lead and psychedelic than the previous one, still focusing on the dancefloor and their love for freaky synths and fierce beats.
the mighty soundmen on wax unleash 3 of their latest & greatest projects showcasing new talent to the label as well as some familiar names & faces. the wipe the needle boys kick things off with their collab with vocalist eddie stockley pure soulful smoothness with live guitars and classy drums. fresh from their outing on louie vegas vega imprint, djn project make their sow debut with æbeautiful people. instant hooky melody and as ever with the label a vocal to just die for, makes for the perfect combination. finally, defected artist dolls combers provides the killer remix on tyron dixons æbring it back bursting with hooky, catchy piano riffs, big vocals, and a steady moody bass. a major ep from an institutional label.

THE APPARENT LINE THAT SEPARATES EARTH FROM SKY EP - FUTURE ROOTS VOL 4
12 Inch 05.06.09
this is the fourth release of the future roots series, the trials and tribulations of the first three download releases overwhelmingly convinced producer dj deep that a vinyle series was of an utmost necessity to authenticate the project..the aventure thus starts here..future roots is dedicated to new talents and is a subdivision of deeply rooted house .....future roots is very happy to welcome english artist alexander ross to the label. born in sheffield and now residing in berlin after a number of years traveling and working throughout the world, ross credits his formative years in his birth town with its rich, diverse musical history and world renowned community of passionate musicians and promoters as his greatest influence and the place where the foundations where laid for his dedicated and inevitably lifelong relationship with quality music in all of its many forms. ross first official release earlier this year on these days records saw him collaborate with greek artist argy on the hugely powerful see no evil which gained widespread praise from a broad range of djs and fans of the label alike. the apparent line...ep is made up of three spacial, driving drum tracks which draw influence in equal parts from alexander ross interest in reverb washed dub, deep techno and the cyclic, rolling grooves of percussive african music. the pieces utilise tight dynamic rhythms and expansive, echoing reverberations to create three striking and effective moments. support from carl craig, josh wink, laurent garnier, loco dice, argy, manuel tur, martin landsky, manoo & more!
new polish label neural network kicks off in fine style with two tracks from dominik muller, already known for his furanum records label and two from label owner stoq, his first vinyl outing and sure to be not his last. the style here is dark, atmospheric industrial techno of the highest order. for fans of bas mooy, grovskopa, gunjack etc.. this is fresh new material and a must have!
like any group enthralled by the history of electronic pop, the fascination movement love remixes. on the heels of their 0.5 ep, and to keep you busy while they put the finishing touches on their debut album, they give you remix vol 1. starcluster twists “radio” into burbling new dancefloor shapes with a tinge of 90s proto-house including 808 drums and roland baselines, alba (a new project with roland sebastian faber and michael black of unit 4/jupiter black) reworks “down again” into something sweeping and nocturnal, adding rock flavored live drums and a new shimmering melody on top. elitechnique stunningly suspends “just pretend” in space with spinning organs, transforming it from a propulsive pop song into something wholly different. in the days of dime a dozen remixes that consist of nothing more than retro-fitting tracks with a 4/4 beat, these beauties show off the originals in new and surprising ways.

markantonio s analytic trail label has been instrumental in creating what is now recognized as the neapolitan techno sound. strongly influenced by their house roots, the labels inventive approach has seen them feature the likes of rino cerrone, valentino kanzyani, the advent, davide squillace and paco osuna. analytic trails its what i like series of ep s has previously featured cuts from a mixture of household names (joy kitikonti, the advent, valentino kanzyani) as well as unearthing some of techno s most exciting new talent. this latest ep focuses on three new names who are making waves with their music. already an emerging name within the naples scene thanks to his work for labels like glowbox and capsula, francesco gemelli typifies the sound of italy with a driving goodtime romp through an array of rubbery tonal synths and acidic bass croatian, vladimir acic has forged a strong reputation playing alongside the techno greats at exit and impressing umek enough to snap up his productions. here he shows why with a fast paced trip through warped flickering tech moods mark morris completes the trio on show on this ep. choosing a style that sits between funked up tech and wobbly minimalism, play with me retains a strong identity with italian techno via a funky bassline but adds a linear restrained vibe.
