the fantastic new single from okinawa delays feat. the delightful vocals of satoko ishimine is a cover version of the neil young/ nicolette larson classic. limited first edition twelve inch on light blue transparent vinyl & comes with fine selection of remixes from phil mison, psychmagik & willie graf & darren eboli. okinawa delays consists of the talented producer takeo toyama aka dj mizuki and the singer satoko ishimine. takeo met satoko almost five years ago when he hosted a party on irabu island that is a one of the distant islands of okinawa. we basically thought to make something like aor tracks like dusty springfield or fleetwood mac instead of city pop, also satoko likes that song, so we decided to go for it and im very pleased with the result.

you should all know by now i have collected a good few records in my time, hunting down that perfect beat. in search of that special piece i have found a deep love for the old soul ballads and funk that were for me great social statements, telling it just how it was. growing up with these tunes and owning them i began to realise if someone didn�t represent them to the next generation they would be long lost and forgotten. so please... enjoy this time capsule of music from another time... you�ll hear nothing�s changed! - mr. g, 2018

the two french friends, siler & dima , have collaborated on phonogramme imprint to present you their 2nd release « friends chip » ep. a first release almost 2 years ago on their own label, popcorn records, siler & dima , took a little break from producing. when the two of them finally got back in the studio, they were unsure exactly what would result, but both wanted a return to their background and the music they like to work together. a music based on sampling, with a melting pot of jazzy & funk soul influences, from moodymann to gil scott heron or donny hataway. the result is here, with 3 groovy tunes, with a strong jazz touch, influenced downbeat of the 90�s. this friends chip release is also the fruit of several collaborations. in « the hunters » you can easily recognize the unique and sexy voice of chez damier, a key influence of the french duo. in �memoory� ,the young & talented paul cut brought his keyboard science , and le loup, one of the main highlight of the french scene, appears on the last track, « willie hutch�. to bring his music knowledge and groove to the original. the result is a beautiful ep truly �friendship�

love notes from brooklyn is proud to present a brand new and promising young american artist in the form of tape hiss. these three moody and emotive tracks fit in perfectly with the label sound love notes has been developing over their last few release. the panic in needle park, the clear standout track, begins the ep with gloomy synth washes at a chugging, pitched down speed. that track is then ably reworked by fellow brooklynite, willie burns, of lies and wt records, who breaks the beat up for a stunted and unique reinterpretation. on the flip, love is a dog from hell brings a little acid to the proceedings, and traces to nowhere closes it out on consitantly dark and moody note. literates will note the bukowski references throughout. another winner for this label

bxentric ends the year with a second release �patch valley� on his newly launched label nanda records, continuing on from the �chrome� ep released in july this year. coming from a dj background and having had successful releases on esteemed labels eskimo recordings and glasgow underground, bxentric is now focussing on his production with an eye on the underground. more releases are in the pipeline from him on nanda records.
