with ‚into the great wide yonder trentemøller is not only exploring new moody and atmospheric universes, but combines his sense for glorious soundscapes with a firm melodic and tonal touch. the original chord progressions and feel for melodies is fundamental to him, and thats also the reason why most of the instruments are played by trentemøller himself on this album. >i like the possibility to be surprised that chords and melodies change into something new. the music that i like most lets the themes and sounds come back in different disguises<. the danish multi instrumentalist and producer shows an unexpected talent for finding vocalists that fit the mood of his songs. the first single of the album, the beautifully tender >sycamore feeling<, featuring marie fisker, is a typical highlight

the great lake swallows ist eine zusammenarbeit zwischen der kanadischen cellistin julia kent und dem belgischen gitarristen/bandmaschinenmanipulator jean d.l. aufgenommen in charleroi, belgien im jahr 2015 wŠhrend einer videoinstallation mit sandrine verstraete, entstand die musik aus feldaufnahmen, bearbeiteter gitarre und cello und dient als soundtrack zu dem gleichnamigen video. das album ist ein ambientes wunderland, das auf schritt und tritt schšnheit hervorbringt. es wurde als ganzes gebaut und sollte auch als ganzes konsumiert werden. die wiederholung ist hypnotisierend, ein beruhigendes gefŸhl der ruhe, das von einem hauch von unbehagen umgeben ist, welches nahtlos in verschlafene melodien und gebrochene drones Ÿbergeht. die vier teile die sich Ÿber einen kurzen zeitraum von sechsundzwanzig minuten entfalten, enthalten keinen ton zuviel. alles, was darin enthalten ist, fŸhlt sich notwendig an, jeder satz bringt den nŠchsten, ein gesprŠch zwischen zwei herausragenden musikern.
we are living in precarious times. a senile, racist old man prone to temper tantrums has his tiny hands on the controls of the most powerful military machine the world has ever known. a handful of his (no less dangerous) international business associates and personal friends possess more collective wealth than the rest of us put together. the oceans and forests of the planet are dying slow deaths by asphyxiation, force fed 300 million tons of single use plastic garbage every year, and the temperature, both literal and rhetorical, rises the world over with each passing day.
special re-release , nice price
i always like to think my stuff is music for a warm but rainy day . low frequencies do something to your muscles when you listen to them. there have been studies of low frequencies contracting your muscles, and because they contract certain muscles you have the urge to move, you know, to get rid of that itchy feeling in your arms and legs. so that would be a reason to dance. hailing from eindhoven, which back in the day had ties with many chicago and detroit artists and labels. i think what makes music interesting is when an artist incorporates his/her influences and translates it into a unique sounding style. although it might sound a tad arrogant, i d like to think of my music as martyn music . i try not to think of it as dubstep or techno, or house or drum & bass, it s not about genres, it s about music
the sound of the late great fitzcarraldos is like sand between your toes. bittersweet love songs paying homage to otis redding, brian eno, john cale and luther vandross. this is sophisticated melodic luxury music for a generation that has the history of music up their sleeve, but really just want to meditate.
we are proud to present >into the great wide yonder<, the second album of anders trentemoeller and the follow up of the highly succesful >the last resort< (2006). just like his debut, which struck a chord with new audiences all around the world, >into the great wide yonder< is a truly remarkable album, offering as much depth and soul as its predecessor, yet sounding ultimately fresh and different.
brought to you by two of the sharpest selectors in the western us, origin peoples #6 simultaneously captures the essence of a period when dancefloors were not yet divided into a million sub-genres, when all that mattered was a groove that made you move. it also skillfully showcases the kind of refined beat mining we find today, when increased freedom of information makes even the most seasoned crate diggers bow down in amazement at the sheer weight of great music yet to be discovered.
across both sides, we find the combined talents of san diego based legends bernie “dj inform” fishman (side a) and mike “marsellus” wallace (side b), former roommates who first met while record hunting, eventually cementing a bond centered around the endless pursuit of quality sound. their respective collections are among some of the most respected worldwide, and the knowledge and flair on display in their dj sets is something to behold.
for those not yet fortunate enough to have caught fishman and/or marsellus out in the wild, you now have these recordings to enjoy - so turn those volume dials all the way up. a sure sign of the gifted dj is an ability to educate and entertain in equal measure, whether on the floor, in your crib, or on the street. to have two such selectors on a format that fits in the pocket is a treat that can’t be beat.
repress - fly free is the newest ep by jon dixon on his hi-tech jazz label, 4evr 4wrd (forever forward). he collaborated with 2 good friends and detroit legends, john jammin collins and al ester to create two unique edits that best suit their personal dj style. he is no stranger to both jazz heads and techno innovators. hes played with urs timeline with mad mike, carl craig to jazz great marcus belgrave. i wanted to make something that could be the theme song for a detroit summer regardless of where you re going or coming from, jon said. i wanted to create a song that was perfect for cruising down jefferson heading to belle isle, or being stuck in downtown traffic after a game. jon dixon took something so familiar to the people of detroit and transformed it into a piece the world can dance to.
