3 teens kill 4 was born in the summer of 1980 in the east village of new york city. they took their name from a new york post headline. the group consisted of doug bressler, brian butterick, julie hair, jesse hultberg, david wojnarowicz. there was a conscious decision not to have a front person or lead singer. david made cassette tapes with voices and sounds that he held up close to a microphone, fast-forwarding and rewinding. julie tried different rhythms on a korg rhythm machine. brian played a casio drum machine and jesse was on bass. doug joined the group in time to make the debut album. he was a music lover who understood how to avoid covering over the band’s non-musicality. their debut 7-song mini-album “no motive” was recorded in fall 1982 and self-released in 1983.

22 years ago saw the release of goldie’s debut album ‘timeless’ which truly changed the face of drum’n’bass, hardcore and jungle. the seminal record featured the iconic track ‘inner city life’ - the vocals for which were performed by the late diane charlemagne. in 2011, the guardian described the release of ‘timeless’ as one of the -50 key events in the history of dance music-. mobo award-winning songwriter, dj, producer, visual artist and actor goldie (mbe) will release a new double album ‘the journey man’ on june 16th, all written and produced by goldie. collaborators on ‘the journey man’ album include vocalist and songwriter natalie duncan, terri walker, tyler lee daly, natalie williams, jose james, naomi pryor as well as goldie’s wife, mika wassenaar price. goldie is also one of only a handful of artists ever to co-write with david bowie – on the track ‘truth’ from the drum‘n’bass pioneer’s second album, ‘saturnz return’ released in 1998. the album also featured distinguished collaborators such as noel gallagher and krs-one. goldie will be performing an exclusive, sold-out set of shows at london’s esteemed venue ronnie scott’s on 24th and 25th of february, where he will be performing with the heritage ensemble along with ‘the journey man’ vocalists terri walker, tyler lee daly and natalie duncan.

british artist gazelle twin presents her new audio visual performance show for two vocalists, kingdom come . three tracks from the av show, created in collaboration with video directors chris turner and tash tung, are now available on limited edition vinyl via the vinyl factory. artwork by jonathan barnbrook. the conceptual performance for two vocalists is staged in six chapters, incorporating electronics, film, and the brand new soundtrack from gazelle twin, created from samples and live vocal manipulation. with the piece set on treadmills against a manic, illusory landscape, kingdom come places heightening physical demands on the performers, resulting in an exhausting, otherworldly climax. taking its title from j. g ballard’s final novel, kingdom come will play with notions of feralness, displacement and the uncanny in the contemporary british, urban landscape. the artwork for the ep has been designed by jonathan barnbrook whom has used the track and a.v video for metro as his inspiration. jonathan recently featured in the new design museum exhibition, designs of the year , with jonathan s design for david bowie s blackstar album.

initial listens to inre rymden (swedish for inner space) reveal it to be a curious combination of slow-motion house music and salubrious new age funk. in this case, first impressions are accurate, and they should intrigue you enough to dive deeper into the paradisiacal vistas tommy awards paint here. the opening track prometheus introduces that feeling of sundown deliquescence that very few musicians can summon, as it locks into a laid-back groove that induces utmost serenity, buoyed by sublimely mellow guitar vibes that should make fans of manuel gšttsching s ashra and phil manzanera s solo output spring to attention. draget conjures the sort of exquisite elegance and preternatural chill last heard on roxy musics 1982 lp avalon but somehow its even more blissed out than that boudoir classic. and so it goes for most of inre rymden: among the six tracks, only rexy hints at tension, courtesy of a bass line that sounds like it should score a prisoners walk to the electric chair. but thats tempered by guitar sighs of radiant melancholy, not unlike those lofted by popol vuh s daniel fichelscher. even when inre rymden gets relatively uptempo, as on hans logan, it still glides like gilded, glazed, balearic house jams, urged on by subliminal bongos and dappled with pastel guitar shimmers far off on the horizon. music is love and love is our music, runs tommy awards slogan (a sentiment beautifully echoed by david crosby on his revered 1971 album if i could only remember my name), but one could also argue that it is medicine a balmy ear massage that spreads healing frissons to all areas of your body and mind. tommy awards continue their miraculous act as scandinavians channeling the tropics with stunning audio verisimilitude.

college ist eines der musikalischen projekte des französischen musikers david grellier, der auch als valerie und mitch silver bekannt ist. der film-soundtrack zu “drive” machte ihn über nacht berühmt. der song “a real hero” von college war einer der beiden pop-tracks (mit “under your spell” von desire), welche die schlüsselszenen des films untermalten und den soundtrack so berühmt machten. “shanghai” ist ein konzeptalbum, welches stimmungen dieser stadt reflektiert. dies hört sich über weite strecken wie ein imaginärer soundtrack im 80s electro-gewand an. mit dem stück “love peas” ist gewissermaßen ein chinesischer song geboten, der in die fußstapfen von “a real hero” treten könnte. fans von johnny jewel/chromatics sollten hier herein hören!

seit mehr als 15 jahren wieder auf vinyl erhältlich: der soundtrack der dust brothers zum us-erfolgsthriller -fight club- von 1999 in der regie von david fincher mit brad pitt und edward norton in den hauptrollen. der soundtrack der dust brothers klingt wie ein instrumentales trip-hop-album und gilt als einer der besten filmsoundtracks der 1990er jahre. die europäische lp-version erscheint auf schwarzem 180g doppelvinyl in einer eingeschweißten deluxe-kartonage mit aufreißfaden und bedruckter innentasche.

looper sind stuart david und karn david. bassist stuart david war gründungsmitglied von belle&sebatian, seine ehefrau karn david (die auch regie bei verschiedenen belle&sebastian videos führte) beschäftigt sich mit multi-media-künsten und animation. so ist „offgrid:offline“ ein konzeptalbum dessen basis das gleichnamige spoken-word-stück darstellt. dessen musikalisches motiv und textliches thema kehrt auch in anderen stücken des albums wieder. looper sehen sich hier wesentlich von der indie-folk-szene inspiriert. das album ist nur auf vinyl erhältlich. das auf 500 exemplare limitierte vinyl selbst kommt in transparentem blau, inklusive downloadcode für das gesamte album und weitere bisher unveröffentlichte titel.

auf diesem album haben wir nach langer zeit einmal wieder sämtliche tatort-hits und -melodien zusammengestellt: klassiker, hits, unbekannte titel und bislang unveröffentlichte musikstücke - songs und melodien aus über 40 jahren tatort-geschichte.

fink veröffentlicht ein minimalistisches blues album auf seinem eigenen imprint r’coup’d! um die wartezeit auf das nächste -reguläre- fink-studioalbum zu verkürzen, veröffentlicht fink im märz -fink’s sunday night blues club, vol. 1- auf seinem eigenem ninja tune-sublabel r coup d. dies ist die erste, reine blues-veröffentlichung von fin greenall. produziert und gemischt wurde das album von fink und flood (u2, pj harvey, warpaint), aufgenommen in greenalls studio in berlin. jeder song wurde dabei in kurzer zeit live mit einem vintage-mikrofon und -verstärker aufgenommen. manchmal braucht es eben einfach nicht mehr. greenall sagt darüber: -most of this record is one take, from all of the guys who helped me get there ... new orleans legend david shirley on drums and the weird and wonderful colin stetson also really brought the heat to the table. -my love of blues has always been there, before i even knew what it was. records by john lee hooker, t-bone walker and chuck berry really spoke to me. for two springs, in 2015 and 2016, i immersed myself in the blues, scouring record stores whilst on tour to inspire and educate myself ... to do something raw, rough, and live, a record that just was, for its own sake. you d think that writing blues was easy - but it isn t ... it s easy to copy, sure, and to cover, definitely, but to write original blues that is more than just a photocopy of the past actually turned out to be equally challenging and natural...- - fink

there arent many artists that can lay claim to having put out records on labels as divergent as rough trade and john talabot’s hivern discs. perhaps this is because few artists express such genuine diversity in their musical tastes and creative explorations as david kitt. since the turn of the decade as new jackson he has mined a seam of driving, ghostly house to run parallel with his solo strand of ambient folk electronica. his debut release in 2011 the night mail on pogo channeled early record collection heroes aphex twin and orbital through to drexciya and projekt pm but had one foot firmly in the 21st century beaming in like some futuristic cyberballad. on the flip side hussle free had that mix of house and boogie sensibilities with dark and dusty synths and vocoder that would become a signature. this was followed by acclaimed releases on hivern, permanent vacation, major problems, apartment and most recently cin cin. his debut album set for release on all city in may was recorded in kitt’s bedroom studio overlooking dublin bay, its nocturnal hues very much a product of the nightshift often working on headphones with the rest of his housemates fast asleep. it takes full advantage of the scope of the lp format, ebbing and flowing between deep house club ready gems and more restrained and meditative beatless moments for the morning after. the recording process yielded many eureka moments with kitt finally nailing sounds that had hitherto proved elusive. a key moment was getting a bank loan to buy an sp 1200 sampler
