kensuke fukushima is an established name in the music industry, with releases on wax in a handful of different labels. his astonishing work on “get in” proves that fukushima’s vision is wide and obeys no standards, resulting in this unique piece of music that we proudly present. besides the dub version from fukushima, this edition also counts with two remixes.
through the hands of andy book, the label owner, we receive this clubby interpretation, full of raw elements and fantastic twist in the melody of the original track. her joys, delivers a jazzy approach to fukushima’s track, making good use of acoustic percussion.
as in the first release, this one will be strictly limited to 300 copies. no repress.

san fransisco meets nyc for the third release on fifth interval. rose bay from federsen sets the tone for the record: drenched in tape hiss, the warm pads and delays create a richly textured environment for deeper club sets or for 2am sessions on headphones. dub techno luminary brendon moller offers up two versions of the title track to complete the ep - one in his own name and the second under his ecologist guise. fans of the label will no doubt be well aware of moller s formidable discography, which includes 10 albums under a variety of aliases, exploring the outer reaches of dub music. coaxing two captivating versions from his studio in upstate new york, moller focusses on the chord stabs from the original for the echologist dub, pushing the stabs and percussion through the desk, twisting the tails through tape delay and creating new vistas through crafty use of panning and bona fide dub production techniques. closing with the outstanding tidal dub, moller dons his beat pharmacy cap and pushes the mammoth bassline to near speaker-crushing levels to create a deeply hypnotic groove that is accentuated by waves of ferric pads and fractured percussion.

the last few years has seen parris make a name for himself across a number of scenes, to the extent he is just as likely to be found spinning records for butterz as he is putting records out on berceuse heroique. here at idle hands we first touched base with parris many moons ago when he bought copies of the first release on his soundman chronicles label into our shop. as it is one of our favourite labels we were intrigued to hear what he would come up with as producer himself. needless to say we were impressed. presented here are two tracks that perfectly reflect his sound and our own a nod to techno here, a weighty bass line there, a love of reverb everywhere and all with a view to being played in dark rooms late at night. the 12 inch of burr and blue is idle hands last release of 2015 and we think it rounds off nicely what has been a great year for the label.

straight out of the ukraine comes io (mulen) aka aleksandr voznichenko, a man whose back catalogue includes releases on labels such as rejected, eklectisch and area remote to name but a few. now he links up with one of paris’ premier labels, run by one of paris’ premier crews – apollonia. with one solid track and a classy remix from danish young gun malin génie, this is another surefire winner from apollonia. ‘to the unknown’ kicks things off with a steady build up. shrouded in a hazy mist it draws you to its understated groove, io turns in a very considered production that evolves at a slow yet utterly gripping pace. the energy levels rise like the tide of the ocean, engulfing you before you know it. io’s dexterity and cunning ability to keep the listener engaged manifests itself here, bomb! on the flip side, malin genie steps in to give ‘to the unknown’ a new lick of paint and what we get is a jazzy, minimal rework with a jaunty skip in its step and a wicked bassline.

lanthan.audio kicked off 2016 with its third release. label owner, christian gerlach, has already delivered two powerful punches of conceptual techno by artists like edit select and deepbass. this time the south african born, new york based producer the echologist has been chosen to lead the five track ep. echologist, also known as brendon moeller, has always demonstrated his passion for hypnotic synths with intense smoky atmospheres. he delivers two original tracks that have then been remixed by a familiar name to the label, deepbass, as well as the talented antonio ruscito. with the original cuts you can expect a trippy journey into metallic loops on a spatial environment of solid beats. the deepbass remix offers another version of the hypnotic process in ‘dead men tell no tales’ in a more powerful manner. on the flipside, the italian, antonio ruscito delivers two other interpretations of the original track through different paths. the b2 serves us a proper banging synthetic vibe and the last bonus track, which is digital only, is the final trip to an hypnotic and cloudy deepspace. with this package lanthan.audio continues showing interest on a structural sound with that artistic touch of architecture. expect to see some more new constructions of they’re new building.

theres a reason kai alces name consistently comes up when the topic is exceptional house music. the ndatl label boss remix of the dangerfeel newbies * what am i here for* takes the soulful number to heights beyond the originals already heady groove. j piccola sings with a perspective thats like bopping through the city, skyscrapers above giving dimension to the groundwork so necessary for love and progression. his vocals match the pace of propelling keyboards by chris irvin and delvynw. saxophone by quinn mason adds an element that in alces distinctive hands becomes a part of all things classic house: deep, melodic, and ultimately, free. thats particularly true of the kzr’s late night mix. it harkens the wee hours with a shuffle, leading keys and pinpoint bass. the piano instrumental puts keys front and center, with a few jazzy chords that recall the hippest, dopest brunch you’ve ever attended. the entire project is very much atlanta-grown, representing its strong, interconnected music and art scene. all the key contributors are based in the city, from alce and the dangerfeel newbies, to acclaimed visual artist radcliffe bailey, who created the album art, and tastemaking graphic artist steve deniro, who designed the album layout. after small promo run in japan the gem gets a full worldwide release with alternate mixes and kai alcés bonus distinctive remix of * swingin with the new jack* previously unavailable

two of paris’ most respected artists get together for their second collaborative extended player this year. dan ghenacia and chris carrier have been entrenched in the electronic scene in their hometown for a long while now, both men building a strong rep through consistently great music and dj performances. earlier this year they joined forces on ‘just a sin’, released via carrier’s adult only label, now they’re back with the follow-up on apollonia. across three deadly tracks, the duo explore their love of music making machines to the fullest – each track taking its name from ‘sweet heart’, translated into different languages. ‘schatzi’ works off a modular synth, bursting out of the blocks with a wobbly bassline which supports a range of subtle effects together with infrequent vocal clips. as the track progresses warm rising pads and female vocal snippets create an entrancing atmosphere. next up we get an arabian twist with ‘habibi’. a pervading air of mystery presents itself right from the off, with warped voices lurking in the background as the rhythm lures you into its murky groove. as the track progresses more eerie pads and effects are layered over the stepping bassline giving it a very creepy feel. finally, french vibes comes through with ‘cherie’ on side b. the track draws its energy from the busy, though crisp, percussive elements and a b-line that groans in unison with the beats. a simple chime remains present throughout, keeping it minimal yet interesting.

another welcome name to soma from the spanish camp is reeko who delves head first into unfathomable deep techno depths with his debut release, barcelona #3:00 a.m. reeko has been building his name with great care and attention to his sound for many years and all this has culminated in a producer who can easily flip form deep, cerebral techno to full on filth. his debut on soma happily straddles these fields as thunderous sub bass matches some equally future realms of energy.

delsin present a new ep by b12 aka steve rutter entitled orbiting souls, a name which comes from the fact the veteran artist has recently spent contemplating the loss of a friend and believes we are surrounded by lost souls and spirits. this is b12 s second ep this year following on from the bokide 325 release on soma records and comes years after still acclaimed album like electro-soma and timetourist on warp records back in the 90s. orbiting souls is a somewhat complex journey, a representation of inner bi polar opposites, isolation, sadness, but also acknowledging the great and wonderful things around that swirl and support and energise us. a perfectly formed sound world that is both absorbing and cerebral and comes with a full colour sleeve by boris tellegen.

the first prodigal son release features a newcomer from france, known by the name exal. he is a resident dj for blocaus in paris often held at la machine du moulin rouge. his first ever record is sure to make an impact with two excellent originals already proven to do damage to dance floors with good results and they are backed up by two stunning remixers on the flip side. inigo kennedy and hector oaks both put their own uniquely epic spin on exals original tracks. the vinyl has been mastered by matt colton at alchemy studios here in london and the artwork story begins with our guy sariel keslasi from tel aviv.

it s time to have fun in the murky again as the 4th ep arrives on platters courtesy of joefarr. this record, bearing joe s daughter s stylized name has been something of a special project here at fitm. originally intended for vinyl release on turbo recordings of montreal i couldn t stand it when i found the vinyl release was no longer planned. i got in touch with both joe and the kind folks at turbo and have licensed it for this vinyl release. it truly is a record i believe in.

nathan melja is the same young frenchman whose debut ep we released under the name melja late last year. since then, he moved to new york and worked at mister hq for a few months, manned the light booth at the mister saturday night and mister sunday parties (djs make the best light guys), and spent most of his time outside that making music. leo draws is the culmination of that music-making, two murky but beautiful tracks centered around vocal samples and one off-kilter number aimed at the dark corners of the dancefloor.

the duo acid mondays have brought their quirky forms of house and techno to a wealth of respected labels over the years, warp, circus and 2020 vision to name but a few. now, negghead and lex wolf can add guy gerbers forward-thinking rumors to that list, with their humorously-titled tacos per minute ep which looks set to add to the imprints hard-earned reputation as a breeding ground for innovative techno.

direct from the deepest corner of the southern hemisphere, a.k.a. perth, western australia, good company records is a new outlet for the music of our west coast underground , born out of four years of parties and a newly-opened specialist record store of the same name. release number zero-zero-two comes from north perth riddim doctor phil stroud, two extended instrumentals offered generously across two sides of the same 12- black plastic disk, equally suited to solo meditation or dance floor evocation! side a is drum workout the forest , sounding in the mix or on the breeze not unlike a mid-summer, mid-noughties villalobos set echoing through a european wood. side b is the beachside dawn of yemaja , a glistening ode to the goddess of the same name that features the dewy key-tones of yazist vaapa s jack doepel. limited quantities

after the big success of the reissue of “mbg ep one”, we are proud to introduce the release of optik “music harmony & rhythm”, another great ep originally released in 1991 under mbg international records. optik is the alias of giorgio canepa and ricky montanari, two of the most talented italian producers from the early 90s italian underground-house movement. in this ep we find two killer deep-house tracks, “music harmony and rhythm” and “illusions”, two great examples of the italo-house touch of the early 90s that we found in a lots of other productions by mbg, don carlos and key tronics ensemble, to name a few plus “illusion” which is also sure an epic track, it was the last disc played at vae victis (misano, italy) and the first disc played at novenove (gradara, italy), two of the most famous italian after hours of the 90 s era. fully re-mastered, dmm cutted, re-pressed & re-released for 2015 in it s original format from the original mastertapes, with the permission & participation of all rights holders with all original mbg label artwork intact.

8 tracks of raw arabic funk music, none of these have ever been reissued before. so far fadoul (or fadaul, or faddoul, the transcribtion of his name to latin letters differs)& his music had not been rediscovered, as a matter of fact most of those songs still left no trace whatsoever in the world wide web. it took us 2 years and countless trips to morocco to find the artists family to license the release from them.

after more than 10 years in the game and a string of successful eps to his name, idriss d releases his first proper album on his own memento records. at first conceived as a succession of singles for his “dib 00” series (the first two being constantine and alger), the project then became more of a collection of dance floor tracks influenced by what he likes to play in his dj sets.

axkan delivers a soundscape encompassed in dark, hypnotic noise. hailing from los angeles, his style is very unique and sought after, making its way onto labels such as, the cast project, rheostatus, secretechno, switch off, from 0-1 and gbb to name a few. we are proud to feature axkan on our fifth vinyl release including remixes from luis flores and anthony jimenez. you will find a wide range of elements ranging from experimental modular to dark atmospheres creating a nice blend of dance floor and thought provoking rhythms.

the vinyl factory has teamed up with french label zone for another rugged techno four tracker, this time from close associate and well established production talent maelstrom. though his name suggests total chaos, maelstroms music belies intention, focus and precision. often marked as exciting newcomer to french techno, maelstrom has actually been making music for over fifteen years. with a cryptic history of aliases and side projects, illegal raves thrown in warehouses and fields and basements, the artist has really come into his own under this moniker. the optics ep showcases metallic techno, acid house, industrial noise and stark ambient sounds, forging smokey machine music for those with a penchant for post punk and a soft spot for the spikier end of the techno spectrum.

herva is the artist name of hervè atsè corti. he lives in relative seclusion from the dance music world in the italian countryside around florence and is one of the most intriguing producers to work in house and techno for a while. his early musical life as a drummer, plus his extra-musical interests in engineering and electronics has informed a unique, freeform, and very tactile approach to dance music. its house and techno that doesnt adhere to the usual influences of detroit, chicago or berlin.

oliver huntemann always delivers - especially on his own senso imprint. after two decades at the forefront of the european scene, to see his name on a record guarantees deeply accomplished techno - direct yet sophisticated, brutal yet refined, physical yet cerebral. the four tunes collected here more than merit an appearance on vinyl.

this time we have something special for you on hell beat limited. after a lot of successful releases on 12- vinyl we present you now the 4th release on hbl as 2x12- vinyl and cd. it will be the first cooperation on an album release of grieche & cristian glitch - -structure-. the name follows the sound of this exceptional techno. it s a mix of industrial, dub, deep, raw, acid techno and their own style.

rnt co-head jkriv does it up royal here with a bit of old and a bit of new. on the a side the queen on her throne is one of j’s seminal reworks in all of its 8 min glory, and although names have been changed to protect the innocent, a bomb by any other name is still a bomb! on the flip, a lesser known west african 70’s jam is worked up into a raucous jazzy afro-house stomper in king mashie. plus there’s a the stripped down beats-n-synth-apella of queen’s beats, perfect for mixing with the og or played on its own!

following the extraordinary success of the releases signed by lory d and john beltran, soul research is publishing an ep by the creative minds of ednic, who is from livorno, italy and an historical name in the international realm of electronic music, g-man. pets (try this with mantra) is, in its original version, full of pathos. the tibetan mantra enters and expands through base lines and obsessive rhythm. the g-man version, on the other hand, is the perfect for dance floor devastation, like all the techno which has come from gez varley.

known for rocking clubs as far as tokyo, new york, sydney, auckland, moscow and beyond- outside of productions inkswel has gained a name of respect when it comes to rocking the dance floor. early bboy fundamentals have salted his finely tuned craft, with a broad back catalogue of productions on labels such as bbe, rush hour, lumberjacks in hell, superior elevation and wolf music. oye records now brings his first ever edits release- previously only heard on dancefloors, jams that inkswel reconstructed for that purpose only- -making people dance . serving as tools for the groove, but unmistakably with the inxxxwel trademark sound. super limited pressing, launching the official oye edits imprint- party jams for party people.

belle alliance is the second studio album by german electronic music group ashra, released in 1980. it is the follow up to correlations from 1979 with the same band members: manuel göttsching (guitar, synthesizer, sequencer) , lutz ulbrich (guitar, synthesizer, piano, mellotron) , harald grosskopf (drums, percussion, synthesizer). the two albums released before under the name of ashra: new age of earth and blackouts (released under the name) had actually been manuel göttsching’s solo albums.

studio is benny’s 5th studio album. not just casually called by its name. no, there is something else happening here. the word ‘studio’ originates from the latin word ‘studium’, which stands for ‘studying’. the studio is the place where painters, artists and musicians learn, study and create. it’s the place where benny is most comfortable. benny’s amsterdam based studio has an amazing view of the canals. studio is an ode to this place, which he built 4 years ago, and everything it has brought him. because it brought him more than just the music he produced there. it gave him his place in the world and with it so many other things. all of which is to be heard on his new album. you find him exposing true love, follow his search for a home, he opens up about settling down and he speaks of breaking through old patterns in which he found himself being stuck for years.

nach maxis auf seinem eigenen label contemporary scarecrow veröffentlicht der brite garry todd sein debütalbum nora lilian auf bpitch control. minimal der perlon-schule, trance, house der 1990er und balearic sind in seinem warm hypnotischen sound spürbar. zudem wohnt in ihm eine psychedelische seele und er schielt charmant auf den dancefloor. acht feinteilige sound meditationen in variabler bpm-stärke, deren fesselnde kraft offenbart, wie sehr die musik garry todd spielt und nicht umgekehrt!

winter 2015 is here and drumcode continues to release the hottest new tracks that make waves within the techno community. releasing tracks from artists such as adam beyer, alan fitzpatrick, joseph capriati, maceo plex, luigi madonna, ida engberg, joel mull, sam paganini, harvey mckay and dubspeeka.
moving into the latter stage of 2015, drumcode are keeping up the refined techno that they have displayed and are making sure that they continue to keep up this form throughout heading into 2016. steve rachmad is a name familiar to everyone within the electronic music scene. he has been a big part of the scene for over two decades and boasts a whole host of records and shows.
he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

the second of two brilliant eps produced by merweyn saunder and eric lewis. although this was released under a different name, they were actually all done in the set of sessions that also gave us the previous release, the virgo four ep. as far as the duo were concerned m.e. was their name and virgo was imposed on them by someone at trax. the two eps were later conjoined and released as an album in the uk radikal under the name virgo. it was re released in 2010 by rush hour.

jesse calosso is a bronx-born dj and producer, part of a tight clique of new york artists that includes such luminaries as the martinez brothers and filsonik. 2015 has been a busy year for him. not only has he completed a mix-tape style album as masters at dutch with the martinez brothers and blas cordero, but also his tracks serving size and whatever right now appeared on the tuskegee ep the come up vol 1. he has dj-d at output in brooklyn, circoloco in ibiza and at seth troxlers acid future party in london to name but three. now, he releases a brand new four-track ep called the incoming on cutting headz.

vinyl only release, born and raised in constanta, home of the legendary la mania club, sepp was influenced by electronic music’s finest sound from an early age. step by step he rose from the ranks not only to become his city’s most beloved dj but also a la mania resident. production followed quickly and quickly came a few releases for uvar, body parts or andromeda. now it’s time for a new challenge and it appears sepp is here to serve. catren is the name, sepp is the game ! sepp’s work is usually a bit minimalistic and super organic and this ep is no different. crampei de balad starts a little broken an creepy only to develop into a super casual dance track. with the kick in comes the synth that will only be eclipsed by the occasional vocals. dance !
glass din stele is the serious one. the steely organic feel present in so many of his works is on. dark strings, piano, ample reverbed spaces and a super groove come together into a ultra deep track that echoes the artist’s fundamental influences. petre inspirescu and ricardo villalobos, probably, if we have to guess.

juan rico, a.k.a. reeko and a handful of other aliases, is a consistent and reliable ambassador of a spanish techno scene that has brought us everything from oscar mulero to tadeo. in his architectural guise (which is also the name of his personal releasing imprint), rico has developed a penchant for perfectly interlocking sonic elements and for a structural sensibility that delivers on the promises of advanced engineering implied by his artists pseudonym. the first result of his new alliance with the wolfskuil label is a full lp that dispenses with the formalities of introducing listeners to the artist, and simply dives straight in to depths of his active mind.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

edizioni mondo presents serie due! while the first chapter with four releases dedicated to seascapes ended with the compilation collezione, we are now delving into a new part of edizioni mondo’s world that presents new views and also artists. niagara, the first release, anticipates the l.u.c.a. album and contains 3 different versions of the same track: one from rotla, one from polysick and a l.u.c.a.s own quirky version that is surprisingly dancefloor-friendly. the name mondo has its roots in “mondo movies” is inspired by libarary music and has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. good listening!

talman records is the new brainchild from french producer and dj samuel thalmann aka okain. the label aims to focus exclusively on the music from the label boss, digging deeper into his musical roots to create a modern sound. after spending the last eight years releasing on some of the most sought after labels like bpitch control, tsuba and truesoul to name a few, it s time for the parisian artist to setup his own imprint and to continue to showcase his personal interpretation of house music. here is the first release containing three new tracks.

eyetone present their most ambitious release to date with the introduction of pink murder, a synth-pop trio band hailing from brooklyn/nyc consisting of michael panico of stargazy, gregory henits of folding legs and vita and the woolf s jennifer pague.alike its name, it feels fresh and wonderfully mystique, a gorgeous waft of warmth and well-being, a fantastic remix package by mark e, inkswel and wood drift that is enriching, soothing and ready for the dance floor. along with a reconstructed edit of the original mix by label founder demi.

the berlin-based label forbidden behaviours welcomes aboard the romanian talent zefzeed which has previously released on labels such as all inn, bodyparts, untold stories just to name a few. the ep is composed by three tracks that showcase perfectly the refined ears and tastes of the artist. this is a must for any serious vinyl pusher! don t sleep on this one..

the sophomore ep by label head n conduit. the name and inspiration for the pumps ep is derived from new yorks infamous strip club, pumps. located on the border of queens and brooklyn on the english kills canal, its one of the last holdouts of seedy and unkempt brooklyn, now that the high rises and artisanal establishments have taken over. the pumps ep consists of three original tracks and a remix that are supposed to capture whats left of this through raw analog sequences and drum programming.
