the dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between kontra-musik s ulf eriksson and sebastian mullaert (aka minilogue). as most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: ulf would play records and sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. as they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at trouw, amsterdam, ulf and sebastian decided it was time to conceive the dance. once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. the dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at kontra-musik s home field inkonst, malmo, sweden.

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

hedonism is an ethical theory that pleasure, in a sense of satisfaction of desires, is the highest good and proper aim of human life, and this seems to also be hdnsms ultimate musical objective. their first release debuted as a kickstarter of variant ep v.a. series, showcasing three very different yet highly contemplative creations from cumsecade, anestie gomez and man spider. hdnsm flips the coin and for the second episode of variant series it lands on two very solid, incredibly moody and extensive works from fresh talents shcaa and cleymoore. the ep features two very different tracks yet they share the same minimalistic core. both works are blessed with intricate micro-drum arrangements for those feeling groove hungry whilst still standing tall in the experimental abstract realm pleasing those who crave unusual frequencies. a-sides masquée is one of shcaas typical rides between sound and silence and it is hard to find another artist who understands sound gaps between grooves better than shcaa does. with his signature vocals and an incredibly delicious duality between acoustic instrumentalism and electronic slamming, this is a groovy, highly deep, very intelligently arranged piece. the flip-side nebula, signed by pluie/noirs boss cleymoore, is a tip of an iceberg when it comes to the art of stripping down. in an apparently thin canvas of minimal drum arrangements theres a vast amount of sound frequencies underneath a steady ever-kicking groove, tricking your mind into thinking that youre hearing less than you actually perceive. nebula is hypnotic and dense but focused and sophisticatedly groovy. like the repetitive vocals youll hear throughout the b-side, this v.a. sticks to your mind like an addiction of some sort and pushes hdnsm to a new standard of avant-garde and forward-thinking attitude. as before, this vinyl only release comes in a gorgeous cover featuring a painting from max binski and the number of copies available is limited

deep dark industrial ambient. a slowly evolving soundscape with boiling buzzing sounds, resonating through the dark world.the berserk was perhaps one of the world s best fighters, which in old norse time sworn allegiance to the norse god odin. before a battle berserkers excited each other up and occurred in bearskin or wolf skin, hence the word berserk. in the beginning of the battle they performed exceptionally talented, indifferent battlers, but in close combat they fell into berserk. then they howled like wild beasts, probably to frighten the enemy and incite their comrades and themselves, and then get into rages. a berserk in battle were said not to bother about any injuries, and was therefore until the enemy, or they died.

amir alexander was one of plan b recordings first recruits. from his first submission, we knew his sound was perfect for plan b recordings. sonic subversion was released as a digital ep in 2010 and now receives a proper vinyl release. we feel these tracks sound even better now. their content is as timeless as ever. they have been slightly tweaked and re-touched by amir for this release, making them perhaps even more sonically powerful than the originals. three tracks of bubbly, banging goodness from one of our earliest comrades.
