the gruuv imprint has just dropped a new ep by european party lovers spirit catcher, featuring a collaboration with dubais raxon alongside remixes from kindimmer and ostgut tons borrowed identity.

audiojack had a great 2014 with a collaborative release alongside lcd soundsystems nancy whang, eps on defected, 2020vision and tsuba, and remixes of romanthony and hot since 82 surfacing, here we see the ever on-point duo open up 2015 with some fresh material for their very own gruuv label. since launching gruuv back in 2010 the pair have unleashed material from the likes of huxley, jimmy edgar, darius syrossian, copy paste soul, a1 bassline and phil weeks, testament to their broadly attentive a&r approach with the imprint. now a year deep into their relocation to ibiza, audiojack have left behind their former uk influenced sound palette, and instead embraced their surroundings to envelop new material with the stripped back style of electronic music their new home turf is known for.

audiojacks gruuv label returns this october with a four-track package from french producer okain, featuring a remix from tuccillo. parisian artist samuel thalman aka okain has quite the standing in contemporary electronic music having been a prominent name as a dj and producer for the past fifteen years. playing at some of the leading nightclubs across the globe such as fabric, watergate, space ibiza, rex club and electric pickle to name but a few. thalman has also built quite the respectable back-catalogue in his time, releasing material via the likes of tsuba, bpitch, memento and cadenza, and here we see him add gruuv to his affiliations.

richard burkinshaw & james rial aka audiojacks standing in electronic music speaks for itself, the pair have been heavily involved since around 2006 and have made quite the impact with releases for 2020 vision, leftroom, get physical and of course their own gruuv label where they return to here.

newbie nerdz aka alex vovel and dario frenda, made their debut single release back in 2011 and since then have been steadily progressing throughout the industry.

audiojacks, gruuv, imprint returns in full force with hugonomics by italian producer hugo. backed with remixes from the label-heads and copy paste soul.

audiojacks gruuv label drops its twentieth release this december, deep futures fixations ep backed with remixes from the highly in-demand dam swindle and dirty channels.

tom budden has been heavily involved in the industry for several years now, working with the likes of time has changed and suara and launched his own label, alive in 2008, which has welcomed rising artists in the shape of krl, rebel, bubba & t-bone and chris james onto its roster. here tom joins the gruuv label with more refreshing house cuts, following the footsteps of huxley, luna city express and catz n dogz.

freak on opens the release, and with a nod to funk and soul incorporated through wah-wah guitar licks, bright piano chords and a modulating electro bass.
bitter sweat is up next, employing a grittier more modern mold with a hooky electronic bass, an amalgamation of vocal chops, and disco house chords driving the track.
kyodais remix of freak on follows and the berlin based spanish duo deliver yet another enthralling piece of music, its not often heard in this day and age but kyodai have managed to give a nod to the 40s musical era with style and precision, here in modern-day house music.
electronic music veteran john tejada closes the release with a stellar rework of >bitter sweat< gleaming with analogue sparkles with a dubbed out house feel with background delays and reverb tails building a deep-set atmosphere.

first up is 92, a straight up jacking deep house number with, as the title suggests, a retro flavour. the deep repetitive pads are jacked up with amen break style drums that were used so widely in electronic music back in the 90s. some quirky synth lines and vocal licks here and there give the track its touch of soul and then a fat bass line to bring in the bottom end. high quality simple yet effective house music...
