in collaboration with present books we are happy to present you �kätze� - a story accompanied by a soundtrack, both written by yannick labbe, krätze is about all the dirt that is to be found beneath the polished surface of our little lives. the book, which was designed by our boy wonder florian seidel, evolves around a modern man living in circles. he is seemingly unable to confront his faults, so he distracts himself with superficial friendships, looking good on the outside and a lot of medication.&#8232,,,,,,, on the soundtrack yannick boils down some dark italo, some playful weird house, some dirty drums and basslines as well as relentless rhythms to a highly potent 5- tracker. there are some 6am basement rollers on this as well as tracks that can be played to accompany a sunrise at an open air beach stage. yet they all have that certain two-sidedness in common, reflecting the idea of the book in a subtle way. krä,tze is nasty. krätze is dirty. krätze is not easily explained. but a little krätze lives inside all of us.

australian group retiree return to rhythm section intl in 2018 with a new record house or home. the musical project of matt crowley, tori holleman and marco vella retiree have steadily congealed their broad influences into a unique emulsion of strongly rhythmic and emotional music. from two releases, theyve been described as pared back 1980s comfort pop for all occasions, having a whole lot of criss-crossing rhythm containing swirling synth flourishes, languid wistful vocals and strutting drum machines. the albums songs explore the theme of house or home and what that means in present day australia for different people. they journey from an aboriginal tent embassy on the south coast of new south wales, a retirement village, a one room flat in ringwood and a sleepless 17 hour stop over in malaysia.

following sterling entries from derek carr, john shima and mihail p, distant worlds reaches out to perseus traxx for a demonstration of the emotional heft and utopian optimism that classic techno promises in its most compelling moments. this is relatable, familiar territory, but executed with finesse beyond the reach of the average producer. a new mystery is bathed in swirling synth tones as elegant as they are moving, while simulacra places a bold square wave riff front and centre for an impactful deep techno meditation. circumstantial reframes the same rich melodic approach in a frantic chassis of snapping beats darting around the grid with playful glee, and then the map is not the territory applies the same logic to a mystical but rhythmically charged trip into the netherworld of machine soul.

n our extremely talented artist pool we have the luxury of being able to work with local icelandic talent and for our 6th instalment in the lagaffe series we managed cook up a long awaited collaboration with a close friend and producer intr0beatz. intr0beatz has been known in the local music scene for quite some time and became one of the most iconic hip hop producers in iceland with the group forgotten lores. after the scene evolved and took changes intr0beatz reinvented himself as a house music producer. with intr0beatz you never go wrong. a long time hip-hop producer went housey on us, and he got the groove. house and old school hip-hop have a lot in common sampling and chopping old disco/soul tracks is the foundation of both. so this came naturally for him. the four-tracker includes the tracks dumpin (a1), mystery ride (a2), tapas (b1) and desco (b2).
