a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.

tck are gerd janson , who otherwise runs the spledid running back label and philipp lauer, who produces grand music under his own name and is half of the fantastic arto mwambe. they just remixed sven väth among many other fab projects, atop that are both irresistable deejays and have a pedigree of being some of the nicest blokes that we know! but that all said, you havent eventually heard the best. its called pf01.02.03.04 and are their tracks made for this record.

after making waves with early and idiosyncratic eps on labels like rush hour and astro:dynamics, singular uk talent bnjmn now steps up to make his debut on delsin with six tracks of experimental and inventive noise and techno. coil opens his account with screechy, unnerving synths squeals, imposing and throbbing pads and super deep kick drums that come at you from miles below. it s a hugely textured and spine tingling affair before the ambiance of berth comes rippled with glassy and alien little melodies. merge has turbo charged drums hiding beneath more unsettled synth based noise that sound sernee at the same time as being paranoid. on the flip, and suddenly makes your hairs stand on end with is gothic celestial glow and slithering synth patterns, blown is a damaged and degraded bit of icy, thumping and reverb heavy techno and azure ends on a brain soothing, chilled out ambient high. these are the sort of truly unique and magically textured tracks you would expect from a producer like bnjmn, and mark a fine debut on delsin.

all killer no filler from dj qu and underground quality boss dj jus ed. both artists take a side each and on dj qus side you can find some quality old school adonis style bass lines. dj jus eds side is a riot with retrace your life being a spacey half detroit half chicago monster and closing jack track jusnotic will certainly do some damage on the dancefloor

side a: palace of change. written in 2011 this one is from the vaults, it came at a time when i wanted change in my music to break away from being diamond eye and move to a more upbeat and uplifting sound, while retaining my signature spiritual and thoughtful approach to music. side b: auf deutsch. an out there rhythm structure that encompasses the half time approach to techno, a contrast to the a side, this has a more lean back and shoulder movement groove, suitable for either side, but can t have light without shadow.

black drop effects is named after the black drop effect, the dark bridge which appears to join two almost-touching bodies against bright light: famously, venus becoming teardropshaped on its transit across the sun, just before it moves into the darkness of space. all four tracks on this ep from italian-born producer palese are named after scientific aspects of the planet venus, confirming that industrial can most certainly still be intriguing. the ep surprises you with twists and turns, defying any stereotypical assumption of techno being all uniform monotony.

after nearly a year has passed by - and kitted out with heavy hitting drum timbres, hook laden nuances and a textured palette of unique effects - south african born esa makes a welcome return to the burek family fold with another ep that skirts the boundaries of the dance-floor and soaks up the sights and sounds of those on the peripheral edges. a family thats consisted of many strays and deviants being welcomed in, esas ep is another mellifluous fit for the croatian based house label that prides itself on beats that drip with greasy flavour and a fine follow on from his killer ‘serenity in a forbidden place ep for the label in july of 2013.

one of las smartest young voices says the la times…which the artist suspects, may just be a covert way of saying la is dumb. “open” mike eagle wouldnt terribly mind, being born and raised in chicago where the painful winters and his uppity grandparents kept him inside as a youth. he spent his formative years watching alternative music happen on mtv and hoping to one day be able to audition for the native tongues. as a young adult after graduating with a degree in psychology, he did the next best thing and moved to los angeles, joining the project blowed collective where he made music and toured with busdriver, aceyalone, abstract, nocando, and more. he has also gained notoriety in the world of comedy by being invited by professional funny people (paul f. tompkins, hannibal buress, matt besser/ucb) to rap at their shows. he would like to be raps kurt vonnegut but recognizes that he would first have to create something as iconic as the four-stroke illustration of an anus. he practices by releasing rap albums that delight, entertain, and confuse.

we hope you will permit us the indulgence of deviating slightly from our globe trotting explorations on this release as we pay homage to the sun. highlife on holiday, if you will. stepping away from the edits, auntie flo delivers a new original track. sun ritual ii takes things up a notch from its earlier counterpart (released on kompakt), banging dare-we-say-it berghain techno gives way to warm synth-laden euphoria. on the flip, miajica, one third of alma negra who you may recall from highlife2. here he serves up a delightfully familiar summer treat, the original being an end of the night, highlife highlight, particularly at our annual tribute to the sun event. we are sure you will agree that both sides are rock solid and primed for the summer!

remixes from artoniks and von d plus bonus track. limited edition back cover reads: sai sai is a nickname given to me by von d. sai sai which is french slang derived from my home country senegal, is similar to the meaning of joker. after finishing a tune one day, i felt the name sai sai was a good fit for it. considering being my debut 12inch release, i feel it is a homage to my swag and home country. my debut ep was named tee hee and i find it fitting my debut 12 being named sai sai. i believe sound is a gateway for energy to transmutate. if sai sai is the ship, ouf is the weapon.

with this new four-track ep by rai scott the slowly emerging producer moves away from being the enigma that appeared on a split 12- with brad peterson that launched the inner shift imprint in 2012. and by the sounds on this ep, she s someone to be noticed. preceding her forthcoming debut on ornate, scott provides another four-track called reason to smile for inner shift music. it s the fifth release for the label this year and -we love you- certainly earns its place as the record s a1, sweet and meaningful deep house. -keep on- is a dubbed out, bassline driven tribal journey of drums and low-end rhythm completed by emotional chords that eventually takeover, while -cats and water- is on a funky, stripped-back and loopy 90s techno tip. and for some ambient fun that then turns house: -sky in the clouds- is a perfect b2. an exciting producer house communities worldwide should be talking about in the second half of this year.

demarzos sound is a meticulously crafted one. his toxic perfectionism and shrewd sense of rhythm lead him naturally to where he is today. his well-revised sets include anything from underground deep house to main room deep tech. after releases on hot creations, noir, glasgow underground or loulou records to name a few, arrives to sincopat with two secret weapons. holster is a cheeky but solid track which brings together groove and melody. analogue synths being added, it also presents changing voices all the way. for the remix, walker & royce take the deep way with a dry kick and sinister notes. pay attention to the astonishing breakdown. trigger is the second original track, in the same language than holster, and using some classic groovebox bullets. ramiro lopez, one of the sincopats golden boys, after his bedrock release, offers two fresh versions with different treatments.
